'I hate crowds', Lloyd thought as he wondered what to do next. An old man solved this problem by saying rather loudly that he'd just 'had a gassy one'. Lloyd wondered if there actually was any gas, considering it could've been a ruse to clear the area around him, though he was not going to bother finding out. 'What a clever old man', the northerner thought to himself.

People were beginning to clear from the central area of the deck, and a bard quickly took their place. The tune he played was very catchy, though Lloyd knew not the language it was in. "Bravo." He said when the bard had finished his tune, and he tossed him a coin. Absentmindedly, Lloyd walked to the railing through the crowd on deck. Taking a strong whiff of the salty air, he once again scanned the crowd, looking for something interesting. The first thing to catch his eye was a trio of southerners, two of which were of the earlier identified couples, the other a stranger. They appeared to be forming an alliance, unintentionally or not. Interesting.

"My name is Sorren, Sorren Kyrah, who might you be? I have to say, despite my heritage, I've never met another night elf before."

"My name is Vailin Des'san," he replied, giving a bow, his long ponytail brushing the floor of the deck. "I'm surprised myself at seeing other night elves here, actually. So, what brought you here to the ship?" he asked, his tone friendly. He hadn't seen another night elf, half-blood or full, since he fled his homeland. As a result, Vailin was as eager as he had ever been to talk with them and learn their tales.

While on the land Sean found little that interested him. The smells were wonderful, and the place was exotic, but he only felt the want to go back home. He was pleased when the ship cast off once more, except that joy ended when he noticed how many newcomers had arrived. Nearly sixteen more members had come aboard while they were on the shore. An impressive number for sure, now the captain had a small army at his command.

Sean avoided the new people, making his way below deck and finally came to his bunk. Laying his weapons inside, the Northerner debated what to do next. Not feeling quite tired enough to get some sleep, he decided to wander the ship. On his way back up he stopped by the locked cabin with an Imperial in front of it. Thinking back, Sean realized he had not seen the former captain Roland at all…

“Ah don’t recall evah talkin’ ta you… My name’s Sean,” the Northerner held out his hand.

"Bravo." Called a man when Vladimir had finished. A coin flew his way and Vladimir bent over slightly, catching it on top of his fur ushanka hat. He took the coin and put it into one of the many pockets of his heavy overcoat, grinned and walked over to the man who caught it. He pushed the lute aside, letting it hang on his back beside his hammer and flag. He clasped the man on the back with a large hand, "You the like the song friend? I thank you. It is very popular in my homeland! Everyone knows it!" He gave a hearty laugh and took a long swig from his flask, which he had tied very securely to his person. One would think that he had finished the whole flask, but even after this "mighty swig" he offered the flask to this kind patron, "Would you like? It is 'water of life.'" He grinned, "I warn you though, it is strong like the large white bears of my home!"

William, carrying all of his gear untill they left port, stolled down the deck of the Dragon, taking the last bit of civilization he would be seeing in a while, for what little bit was civil. William signed up for the crew to solely get away from the damned slave trade, injustice at it's most promonant. He had been a knight, a peace keeper of his village and it's teretories, punishing criminals and seeing justice served, but over time, he moved farther and farther south. When he first saw the people, chained togeather, he drew his sword at the slave driver, demanding he let them go, but he was surrounded by port guards. Explaingning the laws of the land, William sheathed his sword and kept walking. The farther south he went, the worse it was, he had to get away.
He stopped on the port side of the ship, looking out at the harbor, he pulled out a small flute, and began to play a common fair well meolody into the wind that his father had taught him.

"Alas, a fascinating crew is aboard this ship is it not? Dwarves and Elves, women of such beauty, a monstrous giant. Even you, Ryan of Illikon, have a sword of such unique design. A wonder, it shall be, to sail upon such a ship."

Ryan was glad to change the subject; he grinned and said, "Aye, you find or see a fair share of mysterious things when you've traveled, and only the gods know what we'll find on this voyage," he added, "You also seem to fit the description most do on this ship; I find it humorous to how armed we are compared to most travelers on the road."

"Beautiful day indeed, but not the best I've seen. It's good weather for storms," replied Elektra, shaking the man's hand and managing a friendly smile. "I'm Elektra."

Kanen smiled in return and shook the fair woman's hand. "Valid point there. Calm before the storm and such." Kanen examined the woman once again, letting her name sink into his memory. "Elektra. What a lovely name, it's nice to meet you. I do love an uncommon name. I've only met one other woman named Elektra during my travels. She stabbed me and took my money. I assume you won't do that to me?" Kanen laughed.

She glanced out across the deck again, her pale blue eyes scanning the adventurers. "I wouldn't have guessed so many Imperials present in a Southerner settlement... but I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. Still, I can't help but wonder... how'd you end up in that little place back there?"

Kanen shrugged. "Well, it's quite a diverse land we live in. How did I get to that settlement? Well, I've been wandering around the world, trying to find my brother...." Kanen sighed and leaned against rail with his head down.

"You see, I was born and raised in Templaria, and when I turned 25 I decided I wanted to go adventuring. As I was preparing to leave, my brother wanted to accompany me. He was 18 at the time, and my family deemed him too young to come with me. He got angry, an argument erupted, and he....he attacked me,"

Kanen closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose for a brief second to calm himself before returning his gaze to Elektra.

"I'm sorry, this is a bit of a touchy subject for me. Anyways, Caven, my brother, attacked me and we dueled. I managed to land a deep cut on Caven's cheek, which most likely scarred. After that, Caven snapped that he hated me, and he fled...." Kanen sighed again, his eyes downcast.

"If a loved one has ever told you they hated you with such...such anger and meaning, you know my pain," he looked up at Elektra again, his were sad, and if you looked at Kanen's eyes alone at that very moment, you would have taken him to be a very old man.

"I've been traveling ever since, trying to find Caven. I've been to most parts of this continent, and haven't found him. So I figured he must have gone over the sea. I managed to gain passage on a ship that took me to that southern settlement, and now," Kanen stood up straight and spread his arms apart, "Here I am. I apologize for putting you through my sob story, but it is nice to have someone to talk to.

"So, what brought you to this ship?"

My name is Vailin Des'san replied the strange night elf I'm surprised myself at seeing other night elves here, actually. So, what brought you here to the ship? Sorren gathered his thoughts and began his tale, " Well... for a time, I lived with my human mother, but humans in Illikon were afraid of my night elf blood. They thought I was a freak, and a bastard. I grew tired of it, and left home trying to find a place where I would be accepted. It turns out that humans are a superstitious lot, and I would prefer adventuring to dealing with them. So, what brings you so far south?"

Omrach watched Kanen talk to the young girl at the quaterdeck, and smiled when he saw she had taken a liking to him.

He then noticed two crewmembers who appeared to be angry at each other and about to fight. Omrach watched closely, and when one of the men walked away he approached the other. "What happened back there?, Omrach said with a grin, I thought you were about to smash his face in with one of those boots of yours. Anyway, I'm Omrach, and what is your name?" He was about to hold his hand out for a handshake but Taro let out a loud caw when he saw Omrach had more treats in his hand. Omrach tossed a pellet to Taro, and the owl snatched it up in his beak. He could have sworn that he saw Taro smile. "Ah, and this is Taro, my friends great horned owl. I see that you have a bird of prey as well, what is his name?"

"Ah, and this is Taro, my friends great horned owl. I see that you have a bird of prey as well, what is his name?"

Taro gave a friendly hoot in response and cocked his head in an inquiring manner, inspecting the other bird. Suddenly, the Great Horned Owl spread his wings and lept off of Omrach's arm, flapping his wings to gain altitude, going higher and higher until he perched on one of the yards holding the sails. Taro looked down below and saw a nice, shiny rock, albeit one that looked slightly pinkish. Taro hopped around and stuck his rear out....

* * *

In the middle of his conversation with Elektra, Kanen noticed his owl perched high above, releasing a projectile from his rear. Kanen's eyes went wide as he looked out over the crowd beneath Taro in horror. From his vantage point, Kanen could see that Taro had hit his mark, the shiny dome of the oldest man on board who had been complaining about gas a few seconds before.

Kanen slapped his forehead with the palm of his hand. "That damn bird," he muttered under his breath, before turning to Elektra.

"If anyone asks, that's not my owl."

* * *

His business complete, Taro spread his great wings once again and silently started gliding down towards his master, Kanen. Kanen spotted him and made a throat slashing motion with his hand to signal Taro not to come. Taro seemed to nod slightly and altered his course, gliding back to Omrach and landing gracefully on his arm. Taro the hooted inquiringly, as if to say, "What did I miss?"

"Th' name's Hamish O'Shea, Dwarf o' the sea an' pirate cap'n!"

Fenric let out a chuckle. The dwarf did indeed look every inch the 'Yarr-Darr-Hoist-thar-sails' Pirate, and if he didn't know any better, could have been the guest to some costume ball. Well, there was the fact that he barely stood to his chest, and he smelt worse then most pirates he knew, but those were minor details.

Wonder if he has scurvy., mused the Mage.

"If'n ye don't mind me askin', Fintan, where is it we be off to? Ah'm afraid Ah just jumped on th' first ship outta port - turns out th' city guard don't take kindly to pirates in their fair port town."

"He did say we were headed to some island in the middle of the ocean. Filled with savages (Almost definitely cannibals)and all manner of beastie. Perhaps even an ancient monster or two. Probably the treasure of some ancient Elvish lord, too. And if we're extra lucky, it'll have been cursed to kill anyone who touches it. So yes, the usual fare.:

Vailin's memories went back to the time when he was much younger, when his siblings relentlessly tortured him, more emotionally then anything. It got to the point where had actually killed his two brothers, and scarred his sister. "I was exiled," he replied, deciding he wouldn't tell his full story just yet. "After that, I lived in the human lands, becoming an assassin for whoever payed the most. I've been doing that for many, many years now."

As Novak walked away Harry became aware of another man approaching him. Chances are that this man also wasn't coming over to challenge Harry to a game of cards despite the fact that Harry was constantly shuffling his deck. This new arrival also happened to have his own fine-feathered friend, except this one was an owl. Victor squawked at this owl's arrival, clearly not enjoying the presence of this new bird. Victor could be extremely arrogant about himself when around other birds of prey, he often viewed others as "lesser" beings.

"What happened back there?," Omrach said with a grin, "I thought you were about to smash his face in with one of those boots of yours. Anyway, I'm Omrach, and what is your name?"

"Novak got paranoid that I may be a bounty hunter simply because I had a bird with me. I don't know what his problem is, although I won't deny that I look like a bounty hunter with all these daggers on me." Harry replied with a smirk. "Anyway, the name is Harry Smith, and I'm a man of numerous talents."

The other man was about to hold out his hand to shake when the owl noticed the treats he was holding. Victor didn't even bother looking at the bird food, he ate meat only. "Ah, and this is Taro, my friends great horned owl. I see that you have a bird of prey as well, what is his name?"

"His name is Victor. Introduce yourself Victor." The Hawk bowed slightly in Omrach's direction all the while keeping his eyes on the owl with a look of contempt. Out of nowhere the owl then flew up into the air, looked around for a while, and then let loose his volley right on top of the smelly old man's head. Harry burst into laughter and Victor has to cling tight to his shoulder to keep from falling off.

"Hahahahahahaaa....wow, looks like you're not the only one with bowel problems old man!" Harry yelled loud enough for anyone above deck to hear.

Theriot was enjoying the rather soothing and refreshing winds of the high seas, as well as the peace that he had earned by knowing enough to keep others away from him, when suddenly from above a drop of sunshine from above made its way down from the mast of the ship and landed squarely upon his bald head. In the air above, a bird cried and swooped down from the mast, landing upon another man's forearm. The old man blinked for a moment, pursing his lips as he furrowed his brow, silently contemplating his life and how it had reached this point. All that he wanted was respect, he told himself, and yet here he was with a merry splash of excrement upon his skull.

The Recluse played it off casually, reaching up to his head and wiping away the splotch on his hand. Looking about the deck of the ship, he found the bird's new perch upon the arm of a Southerner with hair like a head full of worms. The man was talking to the giant, who immediately burst out laughing upon seeing Theriot's predicament. Theriot merely pretended as though nothing had happened, a pleasant look on his face as he shuffled towards the two. Deep down, he was seething.

"Good day to you, gentlemen!" he called out as he neared them, his walking stick supporting his weight as he moved across the deck. "It is quite the pleasant afternoon now, isn't it? A tad cool for my liking, but the breeze feels nice on my old bones." He nodded to Omrach and Taro. "I see that your bird has defecated upon my head, which is quite the unfortunate and rather amusing occurrence, I am sure. Reminds me of my time spent in the mountains. Massive mountain lions used to share the cliffside caverns with me, and they left rather large droppings in their wake. I was unfortunate enough to accidentally happen upon them on numerous occasions, as you can surely imagine!"

Extending his hand to Omrach, with still the moistness of a bird's droppings upon it, Theriot forcefully took the man's hand and forced him to shake, effectively spreading the substance around all while pretending that he did not notice it was still present. "My name is Theriot, but some call me the Recluse. They seem to believe that it is more mysterious and mystical in nature, but I am merely an elderly man who prefers to live away from people. People are rather bothersome, I believe."

Pleased with his work in humiliating Omrach, Theriot quickly wiped his dirty hand on his robe and turned to the giant, the one who had laughed loudly and rudely at him, in a very disrespectful manner. The giant was shuffling a deck of cards with gusto in his massive hands, which made the Recluse smile faintly.

"Ah, you fancy yourself a lucky man?" Theriot asked, eyeing the cards curiously. "Care to make a bet?"

As much as Harry enjoyed getting in a good laugh against the old man, he did regret the fact that this now caused the old man to come over and talk to himself and Omrach. Harry felt like knocking the old man's block off when he used his poop-filled hand to shake Omrach's. Harry was considering trying to slip away before the crazed old coot tried to talk to them about the weather when something he said caught his interest.

"Ah, you fancy yourself a lucky man?" Theriot asked, eyeing the cards curiously. "Care to make a bet?"

"With you old-timer? What kind of bet do you want to make against me, a King of Thieves?" Harry continued to delicately shuffle the cards in his hands, but he never too his eyes off Theriot.

When he neared a the railing, a hand descended upon Lloyd's shoulder and a voice he recognized as the bard's rang out,"You the like the song friend? I thank you. It is very popular in my homeland! Everyone knows it!" He gave a hearty laugh and took a long swig from his flask, which he had tied very securely to his person. One would think that he had finished the whole flask, but even after this "mighty swig" he offered the flask to this kind patron,"Would you like? It is 'water of life.'" He grinned, "I warn you though, it is strong like the large white bears of my home!" Lloyd took the offered flask,"Thanks, and it was a wonderful tune, it'll be stuck in my head for many a year!" he said with a quick chuckle before having a gulp. He recognized it as alcohol, very fine too, though he didn't identify what kind. "This is amazing! What is it?" he asked after offering back to the bard.

William sighed, it was about time he found a good spot to sleep in. As he walked down to the Quarterdeck, he heard a rather currious conversation going on. Poking his head just below deck, he saw a small array of people down below, but not to many spots had been taken, good. William found on near the hull at the starbord side, removing his armor, weapons, and equipment, just dressed in blue jeans, a black high colored shirt, and a pair of reinforced leather boots, he stook back and listened to the conversation. Eventyaly he knew someone would take notice of him.

Vladimir took the flask back and at first looked surprised at the man's casual reaction. He then gave out a loud bellowing hearty laugh, "It is called Wodka! You sir, must be a mighty man if you can drink and keep straight face!" He continued to chuckle, "My name is Vladimir, I hail from the far northern land of Katyusha! Eh, perhaps you've heard of it?" Though he had never given it any thought, no one had ever heard of Vladimir's homeland, this man was no exception as he saw from his puzzled look.
"Ah, well it is beautiful land. Snow covers the ground all year, which makes many people avoid the place. People are wery friendly though, and proud of their great country!" At the mention of his peoples nationalism, he took the flag from his back and raised it high, laughing triumphantly in his drunken stupor and shouting something what was assumed to be another language, though no one could identify it. He replaced the flag and took his lute out again, "Come everyone! Let Vladimir play you the great song of his homeland!" With this loud booming announcement, he moved back to the middle of the deck and began playing. At times it seemed his singing ability was so great that it was almost as if an entire choir were singing with him.

((Trust me, no one's heard of it. But he's a mad man, so who cares! ;)

After that, I lived in the human lands, becoming an assassin for whoever payed the most. I've been doing that for many, many years now.
Sorren was surprised that this Vailin so readily admitted he was an assassin. "Well, I wouldn't tell the captain about your line of... work. He seems rather suspicious of the new crew as it is. That does explain your armaments though. I myself used to find work as an herbalist and hunter," Sorren said guardedly, not wanting to reveal his other talents "Do you have any idea what the purpose of our voyage is? I merely heard that the ship needed hands, and I doubted I'd be welcome in town for much longer," inquired Sorren

Cyprian shrugged.

"Many a monster dwells the sea, I would not say plentiful weaponry is so unusual. Alas, the only true weapon I wield is my knife. The sword is just a blade. Merely a tool. But this..." Cyprian drew the large dagger from it's sheath, admiring the beautiful curved blade as he did so. He turned his palm up, laying the knife across it and allowing the Imperial to have a full view of it's simple but effective design.

"This is a true weapon."
