About Me

In April 2004, I was at the beach celebrating my grandma's birthday with my family and relatives. I wasn't prepared for what was going to happen that day.

Just before cake and icecream, I fell into a firepit backwards. The dying fire was on my left side. I was pulled out quickly, but the damage was already done. My left arm and left thigh were burned with 2nd and 3rd degree burns.
On the left arm, there are two spots that go beyond third degree, which means it burned a part of the muscle.

My uncle called 911 and I was sent to the hospital in an ambulance. Ten days and two surgeries later, I was back home. The sides of my left hand were affected and prevented me from doing many things with both hands. Such as typing as I am doing now. (In the hospital I achieved playing A Bug's Life on the PS2 with one hand, very, very slowly).

The staff and nurses were very kind and my family came to visit often. I am very grateful to have a family and a God who loves me and cares about me and you. Just as He showed His love towards us on the cross, He showed me through this healing process.

It took a month or two to regain all the movement back. and I had to deal with the incessant peeling that occurred for several months longer. Also, after the second surgery, they had to scalp my head for some of the skin grafts. It took a long time for my long hair to grow back and catch up with the other portion of my hair.

Today I am a normal person and living with all movement. But I thank God that my hair wasn't burned or the webbing between my fingers. Also, my wrist was saved from any burning. My watch I was wearing had a cotton band. I still have it with its scorch marks. :)

The thigh only has a few spots that you can't really see today, but my arm, although the scar is faint, it's almost all covered with it. The scar doesn't bother me at all. I like it.

My arm tells a story . . . my story. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I've been a gamer since the 90's when Sonic and Crash Bandicoot were playing on the first Playstation and Sega Genesis. Crochet is another favorite hobby to pass my free time. Drawing has been ... an adventure to say the least; however, my photoshopping interests are better than putting scribbles on pen and paper. Playing guitar has become a new favorite with my electric guitar on Xbox 360's Rocksmith. And I figure that's half or less than the other epicness I find myself doing these days.
