Both are really well done, though Capulet's commission takes the cake. The texturing for your chainmail is simple, but effective. You did a wonderful job with the lighting for the mail well. The shading on the faces really do convey that they're 3D.

The newest addition is the T2 2in L/36 (6 ft) Automatic Tank Gun that utilizes a magazine system that allows both automatic and semiautomatic fire. It also mounts the new T1 0.5in Heavy Machine Gun in the small turret that takes place of the cupola.

The seventh tank of an arms race with fellow artists.

Spoiler

Name: T1A1 Valor Superheavy Tank

The casement was removed to improve the armor of the tank and now mounts the T1A1 3in L/40 Tank Gun with two T1 0.3in MG's coaxially mounted. The old T1A1 1in L/36 Tank Guns were replaced with the stronger T2 2in L/36 Automatic Tank Guns to protect the large vehicle's flanks alongside coaxially mounted T1 0.3in MG's. All hull mounted MG's were removed to provide more ammunition for the larger sponson mounted guns and a larger engine compartment. The cupola has been replaced with a turret mounting a T1 0.5in HMG.

The fifth variant of an arms race with fellow artists.

This was quite a good art update. I enjoyed the gnome militiaman, the Hellzion Hussar and Cyclopes and the piece of the dragon burning the city.

You did an excellent job with the fire and the lighting of the scene. Well done.

The powerful 265HP engine allows the light tank to zip around at a miraculous 38MPH. The T1 Arlington light tank is supposed to replace the aging T1 Bristol light tank series.

The fourth tank of an arms race with fellow artists.

Spoiler

Name: T1A1 Mundelein Heavy Tank
Armament: T1 3in/76.2mm L/12 Tank Gun, T1 0.3in MG x3
Armor: 3in/76.2mm to 1in/25.4mm
Hull: 3in/2in/2in
Turret: 1in/1in/1in
Weight: 32 tons
Crew Size: 5
Top Speed: 17MPH
Engine Strength: 2x 265HP
Description: The T1A1 Mundelein heavy tank is the product of modernization of veteran vehicles of the Old Conflict. Following the trail blazed by the T1 Arlington light tank, the T1A1 Mundelein HT has replaced its aging riveted construction for welded plate. The suspension is now of the vertical volute type and the cupola is now a MG turret. A wireless radio has been installed to be able to coordinate with other vehicles. Part of the front hull has a greater slope and mounts dual T1 0.3in MG's manned by a co-driver. The old twin 200HP engines have been replaced by two of the new 265HP tank engine in the T1 Arlington light tank.

The third variant of an arms race with fellow artists.

Spoiler

Name: T1 Arlington Medium Tank
Armament: T1 2in/50.8mm L/18 Tank Gun, T1 0.3in MG x7
Armor: 2in/50.8mm to 1in/25.4mm
Hull: 2in/1.5in/1in
Turret: 2in/2in/1.5in
Weight: 21 tons
Crew Size: 8
Top Speed: 28MPH
Engine Strength: 350HP
Description: The T1 Arlington medium tank is the first Triumviratian medium tank. It copies a lot from the T1 Arlington light tank such as the multiple hull mounted MG's, a co-axial MG, and a vertical volute supsension system. The T1 Arlington medium tank turret is a larger and wider T1 Arlington light tank turret to house the T1 2in L/18 Tank Gun. The turret's armor has been thickened and lowered to cover the turret ring. The turret bulge is also larger to house a larger, more powerful wireless radio and the cupola is now a small MG armed turret. The powerful 350HP engine allows the T1 Arlington medium tank to speed around at 28MPH. The T1 Arlington medium tank is the primary infantry support vehicle as T1 Arlington LT's provide reconnaissance and protection from flanking enemies. The new medium tanks also support the recently modernized T1A1 Mundelein heavy tanks due to the limited firing arc of their casement mounted main gun.

The fifth tank of an arms race with fellow artists.

Spoiler

Name: T1A2 Mundelein Heavy Tank

The heavy tank is designed to escort infantry and to blow apart fortifications via direct fire with it's 10 foot long barrel 3in Tank Gun T1A1. There are two co-axial T1 0.3in MG's and the turret has improved frontal armor alongside being widened to house a second MG. Armor was thickened by a half inch on the front and is at a much steeper slope to improve protection. The T1A2 Mundelein is in direct competition with the Ostakaran Maxim-Hector Char 45t and Cordian Stridsvagn Serie D/I Genombrott Akdon.

The fourth variant of an arms race with fellow artists.

The T2 Bristol light tank is a slightly slower and harder nut to crack compared to the T1 Arlington light tank. The newest addition is a MG turret upon the turret roof that replaced the cupola and the new T2 1in L/36 Automatic Tank Gun as the primary armament. The T2 1in L/36 uses a magazine system to feed the gun and allows automatic fire when the trigger is held down, but semiautomatic fire is still available. It is not to replace the T1 Arlington LT, but to allow two modern LT's to be produced simultaneously.

The sixth tank of an arms race with fellow artists.

I'm drawing a hyper detailed Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausf. B or Konigtiger for my cousin. First drawing is 30 minutes, 2nd is 1.5 hrs, and the 3rd is 2.5 hours.

WA-1K War Android
"It's eerie. They rarely speak, just stare. They just stare with that triangular eye. It's unnerving, the lack of blinking. Without faces, you can't tell what they plan to do. They just act." - Unknown Trinity Trooper

Spoiler

The Trinity Military has discovered immortality. A soldier has a Neural Interface Device or NID installed into their brain that records their memories and constantly uploads it to a server dedicated to that soldier. The memories and conscience of the Trooper is stored there and updated by the NID. Drop pods have a NID within and whenever a Trooper dies their body is regrown by stem cells stored within the drop pod and grown around the NID. The Trooper wakes up just before the pod hits the ground. Though this is truly a miraculous technology it does come with a dark side. The newly regrown brain and conscience can at times not even fathom the fact that it is alive once again when it very vividly remembers dying. This can lead to Post Traumatic Death Disorder or PTDD. PTDD leads to the Trooper going brain dead as the brain refuses to function even with a perfectly healthy new body. The worse the death or the higher the amount of deaths for a single conscience increases the chance of PTDD. Troopers that regenerate call the period between death and rebirth, 'The dance with Death'. It is just the Trooper and Death itself dancing. As the Trooper's numbers of deaths increases, Death becomes more beautiful, more alluring, more tempting to stay with them. It becomes harder and harder to overcome Death as time goes on. Eventually, all give into Death's warm embrace free of pain, violence, trauma, memories, survivor's guilt, etc.

~<|*|>~

So, this is a very experimental piece for me. I've never drawn people ballroom dancing or dancing even for that matter. I've never drawn a ballroom dress nor lace.

Please let me know what you think.

Cheers.

I really like the Horseman, especially War.

I am curious to how long it took you to do the scale texturing on your dragon?

#488487 Art of a Wargear

Posted by Neyo Wargear on 17 April 2019 - 10:16 PM

Let us begin with a set of 3 gesture drawings. Gesture drawings are short drawings typically used for practice.

Spoiler

This was 10 minutes. The subject is a M4A1 Sherman medium tank.

Spoiler

Again, I drew for 10 more minutes. I know not if I will finish this or not.

Spoiler

Here is an M5 Stuart light tank. I decided to do this last one with a gel pen, no turning back. Again, alloted time was 10 minutes. Fun fact, the M5 Stuart was an upgrade for the M3A1 Stuart light tank which then became the M3A3 Stuart LT, and finialized as the M5A1 Stuart light tank.

Spoiler

I am in an arms race of tanks with 4 other artists. We decided to start in 1915-1920, the birthera of tanks. This is the flag of the Order of the Triumvirate. The white shield represents the defense of purity and innocence. The black zweihander for marital prowess and the willingness to defend the purity and innocence of their country till extinction. A blue ribbon for valor on and off the field of battle. Three roads that lead to another, a symbol of the alliance of the kingdoms of Bristol, Arlington, and Mundelin. The field of orange for the vast crops grown upon the fertile ground of the Order of the Triumvirate.

Spoiler

The first tank of the Order of the Triumvirate, the T1 Bristol light tank.
Armament: T1 1in/25.4mm L/12 Tank Gun (Length of barrel is 12 calibers, or 12x1in=1ft)
Armor: 0.75in/19mm to 0.25in/6mm
Hull: 0.75in/0.5in/0.25in
Turret: 0.75in/0.75in/05in
Weight: 7.5 tons
Description: The T1 Bristol light tank was the first of its kind. It mounts a long barrel 1in gun for infantry support during charges. It puts puts along at an okay pace.

Due to the Order of the Triumvirate being made up of 3 different groups, each group will design tanks differently. The Bristol are French inspired, the Arlington will be American, while the Mundelin will be the Germans. I may sneak in some Swedish infulences later on.

Spoiler

I redrew the T1 Bristol LT and gave it a nice 3 tone camouflage consisting of orange, tan, and the stock white.

Spoiler

The 113th Jump Division is an invasion force. Jumping from cruising altitude or space, these Troopers are fallen angels. Angels with a vengeance.

38th Relief Division

The 38th Relief Division are peacekeepers. Their mission is to clean up and maintain recently war ravaged sectors. They provide relief via medicine, food, water, clothing, homes, and other necessities for the war torn.
This Trooper is using the standard issue MR1 machine rifle with a built-in bipod and hybrid optics. Optics include a 4x magnification scope and non-magnifying holographic sight. His sling is missing from his rifle. Standard 30 round magazine is used.
The MR1 machine rifle is a rapid firing, low recoil weapon. The long barrel machine rifles of the Trinity Troopers is based on their axiom, "Every Trooper a machine gunner". All Troopers should carry a weapon with writhing firepower to suppress hostiles during advances and provide covering fire for retreats. The idea is also to wage psychological warfare when any enemy engages the Trinity, they have to deal with an army of machine guns.

Are they painting their armors in camo colors for some operations? Or sticks to the white?

They are great, by the way :)

They typically use the colors to identify themselves from other divisions. I may explore with actual camouflage such as Flecktarn, Multicam, etc.

Thanks, you may expect a new panoply and/or rifle soon.
