#487945 Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Maclunkey

Posted by Patriot 96 on 30 September 2018 - 09:09 PM

So as improbable as this sounds, what if we could see some new factions in IX. Here's a few I've come up with:

—Supreme Leader Kylo Ren's FO: The First Order troops loyal to Kylo Ren, led by his Knights of Ren. This faction is supplemented by some form of Clone army and is based around Vader's Castle.

—Some sort of renegade First Order that hates Kylo Ren and plots his downfall

—The New Republic: the few planets that survive the invasions by the First Order are unified with the Resistance leadership, they wage a more conventional war against the First Order

—Some form of unified Scum and Villainy faction dedicated to keeping criminals free of both the First Order and the Republic.

—A non-First Order Imperial Remnant, perhaps the Empire of the Hand.

EDIT: And because no one's mentioning it, Bob Iger of Disney came out and said they're slowing down Star Wars movies. I have mixed feelings about his announcement. On the one hand he took responsibility for Star Wars failing, which is something we haven't seen before from Star Wars execs. On the other hand they're not making as many anthology films which were some of the better Star Wars films in my opinion. They certainly were our best chance at getting familiar characters and/or settings.

One idea that I've seen with regards to Episode 9 is that it could take place years after the other two sequels. This could be important for a number of reasons:

1. Rey could actually have gained some experience. You wouldn't know from the movies but Luke trained for years under Yoda in between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. They could have some really cool moment where Rey comes back from Ach Too as a fully trained and skilled Jedi, rather than a powerful but untrained force user.

2. It could explain why Leia isn't present. Lucas film has already hinted through the comics that Leia is dying, and it would be the simplest in-universe way to deal with Carrie Fisher's passing.

3. Finn, Poe, and Rose could actually be Rebel heroes. During the time between the movies, which could be explained in books, tv shows, comics, etc. the protagonists of the Sequel trilogy could undertake missions that solidify their status as heroes. Marvel is already doing a great job of this with their main Star Wars comics, which are set between A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back, where we see Luke and Han go from having fought one battle to being some of the best Rebel operatives in the Alliance.

Just a note, I'm calling them the Rebels rather than the Resistance because that's clearly what the end of the Last Jedi was implying.

Update: I've been working through some world building stuff, and will have it out soon. Unfortunately right now school is a priority so I'll have to get back to everyone later. Feel free to message me with any questions.

For the mace you could use a lego missile with a cylinder and a mining head on top.

Oh god I hope they give some dumb Mandalore plot to Dumb & Dumber so then I suuuuper don't have to watch it.

Not a fan of the Mandolorians, I take it?

Personally i'd like to see Lucasfilm do something with Boba Fett. "No disintegrations!" needs addressing.

NPCs Needed

Greetings everyone! I'm currently in the process of creating a mythology-inspired Dungeons and Dragons world and am looking for possible characters to fill it. I would appreciate it if the good folks of Saber Scorpion's Lair Forums would aid me by creating a few characters of their own. Rules and lore to follow.

-Any level of depth is appreciated, however a few details are required. These include Race, Gender, Profession, culture (see lore below.), and a short description of their personality, characteristics, alignment etc.

-Additional stuff like stats, importance (Not everyone has to be a king or chosen one,) an illustration (or lego figure) could help me get a better idea  of where to fit your guy, gal, or goblin into the story.

-Seeming lore conflicts are allowed provided you can come up with a logical reason. For example a black Centurion in the Imperial Army might have some previous history that puts him in the Empire even though his family lived in the Pharaoh's Kingdom to the South.

-Understand that different cultures may have differing views on the races. The Dwarves fair much better in the Pharaoh's Kingdom due to their connections to the god Bes. The Empire views them as inferior, and simply tolerates them. Message me with any questions on such details.

The setting is a world based on Europe and the Middle East. In it most major Mythologies are real. When Empires clash their gods may fight as well. Additionally death sends you to the underworld of the pantheon of the land you died in, unless other factors are in play. North American and Oriental stand-ins also exist, but are not part of the main setting. They may be visited in adventures though. Technology is approximately Medieval.

Realms in the Main Setting:

The Empire (Greece and Rome)

The Forest (Western Europe, disputed territory between barbarian tribes, the North, and the Empire. Various Feudal Kingdoms)

The Pharaoh's Kingdom (Egypt)

The North (Norse)

The Crescent Cities (Mesopotamia, some Arab influence)

Other Factions (With Preferred Alignment):

The Knights of the Gilded Forest (A group of adventurers in the Forest, no Evil alignment)

The Order of the Redeemed (A paladin order of typically evil races, such as orcs, undead, etc. Lawful Good only)

The Blades of [regional justice deity] (A group of assassins and knights who seek out and punish evildoers, no Evil alignment)

The Dragons Teeth (Murderers and Mercenaries for hire, no Good alignment)

#482849 Historical LEGO Suggestions?

I don't know how to tell you this, but Lego has made Vikings in the past:

Read: common. They've done a Vikings theme, but it's been a while, especially considering how many knight themes they've had. Plus samurai only get sets connected with ninjas.

For Honor decals and minifigs? Vikings and Samurai aren't particularly common Lego themes.

This must be why I liked it more, lol. :P I saw the Logan trailer in front of a movie* a few days ago and I'm starting to warm up to it now. They actually showed some cool stuff in this one. I wasn't sure if the girl was supposed to be X23 before, but I'm glad she is. I'll watch it as long as they don't kill Wolverine in the end or something retarded like that.
*the movie was the last "Resident Evil". I don't recommend it.

It's Hugh Jackman's last film in the X-menverse... and X-23 replaced the Wolverine in the comics...

I see we're still marketing MMOs with CGI "trailers" because apparently it's still 2005.

Wish there'd have put more effort into the original game than they did on the trailer for ESO.

Only Behemoth could make a game about enslaving sentient life for the sole purpose of combat without controversy or some weird "they like fighting because friendship" message.

And it is one of the greatest price/data size/quality ratios on the market. Huzzah for independent developers!

The world is full of people with extraordinary abilities. During World War II the US Government invested in human enhancement as a means of winning the conflict. Within 48 days of the first deployment of these super-soldiers the Axis Powers surrendered.

Soon the free world was threatened by the very method they used to win the war. The soviets now had the capability to create superhumans. After a devastating clash between these heroes during the Cuban Enhanced Crisis the United Nations banned superhuman combatants from engaging in conflict on threat of being charged as war criminals. Since then superheroes have been largely absent until now.

Greetings ladies and gentlemen! I am creating a superhero universe similar to Marvel and DC. I currently in the process of creating some characters and need ideas. That's where you come in. Come up with a character and describe him here. Describe his/her background, appearance, personality, enemies etc. should the more artistic among you wish to post an illustration that would be appreciated.

-Avoid divisive issues. I'm not looking to make everyone angry and for some reason political issues are extremely difficult to address without stirring up anger.
-No skimpy outfits. When skin-scorching plasma is being shot from a villain's hand, exposing one's skin is a poor choice.
-Heroes won't have 20 different love interests. I can't even count how many girlfriends some heroes have had.
-Understand that as the creator of this comic universe I have the final say. Don't be offended if I alter or do not include your character.
-Should I choose to include your character I will mention you in the character's debut issue. You may even cameo as a minor character in the issue.

Four out of five are British or British-led troops where's France? I get not having an American campaign because they only helped end the war but why no France? Or Germany? Or literally any other country? Let's face it, they only included the Italian and Bedouin (who was under the command of the British) to claim that they have diversity.

I wonder how they'll aproach the campaign. Usually the bad guys are Nazis, nuke-happy Russians, or alien invaders. World War 1 didn't really have anyone on the approved villain list, just soldiers fighting for their nations. The German army wasn't much different from the French or British armies, just what alliance they fought for.

(and for the record, no, Nazis and Imperial Germans are nowhere near alike. Hitler advocated for a biological leadership of the fittest whereas the Imperial Germans still supported class based nobility.)
