#487181 A Dying Breed OOC - Rules, Character List, and Chat

Posted by Dalton Westmoore on Yesterday, 11:23 AM

In case anybody is interested, here's the three quests and who's chosen to do what so far:

  • Pellio of Krisa & Allan of Whitehorn

Lyneth Brys

Athens Astoria

  • Loke of Pluton & Silvius of Appledale

Sivan and Asti

Kate Meloria

  • Indigo of Deltalund & Darin of Caltha

          Holli Emberleaf

          Auric Khasim

          Agethar Twin-axe

          Caiden Voros

          Krystina Ravenswift (?)

  • Undecided

Araven Karial

Cyrus Malcolm

I put Cyrus in Undecided, since I originally wanted to see if he could seduce Lyneth, but I'd rather investigate the mystery of why Cappy's Inquisitor is here.

You got something to hide under that pretty helmet of yours?”

Yes, but you can't see it yet because I want to build suspense so that everyone is shocked by it. :P

From what I can gather, three groups of Venator duos vanished in three different locations. We are starting out with twelve player characters, we could investigate in one of two ways:

1: Investigate each location with three groups of four, which would be quicker but have a higher chance of casualties.

2: Investigate each location as a group, but move slower.

But I think the bigger mystery is why Capulet has an Inquisitor character in this campaign. Maybe she's hunting whatever's lurking in the forbidden rooms...

This is probably a pipe dream, but I think it would be cool if some of the more memorable members of the Scorpiontowne Guard showed up.

The ones I'm thinking of are Thrawn, Joker, Sgt. Crusty, and Ocelot, but its up to you.

Solaire and Siegmeyer. PRAISE THE SUN!!!

I really like that drawing a lot.

Thanks! I put a lot of hard work into that drawing. My friend got a kick out of it.

Anyways, here's a quick art update!

First up, more Fantasy Doodles:

Next, a drawing some of the old school lego fans will enjoy:

Penultimately, something Nightstalker asked me to draw:

Lastly, something to tide us over until A Dying Breed finally begins:

I may try to do another Art Update next week, which will include some things I've meant to draw for a while, but since it's the last week of my Classes, I'm not promising anything.

As always, Comments, Critiques, and Suggestions are always appreciated!

Apparently, somebody liked the weird part of Legend of the Sword where everybody was wearing pseudo-modern clothing and also wanted to remake this movie.

Hollywood, please stop making movies that look cool, but fall apart because they don't have a good story.

I think it might be time to abuse that wish fulfiller.

Anyways, yet another round of good art! And yes, only the 10th child belongs to Necros.

Also, is that a Jojo reference?

Abuse away! I love having multiple different drawings to work on!

Yup, both the Rebels and Jesus drawings are Jojo references. Watch out for another one in this update!

Anyways, on to the art!

First up, Fantasy Doodles!:

Next, drawings I did for friends!:

Next, Goblins vs Froblins!:

Penultimately, War Elephants!:

Lastly, a Dark Souls drawing I made for a friend as a going of to college present:

Alright, I'm going to give you some minifigs to add to this, since I'm planning on attending this year:

1: Plain Dalton:

Head & Hair: The head you use for my sig-fig

Body: https://i.ebayimg.co...7Uvu/s-l300.jpg

Legs: https://img.bricklin...970c00pb195.png

Nobleman Dalton:

Head & Hair: The hair you use for my Sig-fig, but with this face with the moustache: https://img.bricklin...3626cpb1804.png

Legs: https://www.bricklin...0c00pb044.jpg?0

Now for the Combatants. If there's enough space, I'd like you to use both, but if not, you can choose your favorite.

Dalton Westmoore:

If you like, you can use the Dalton that you already have, but I'd like it if you would try to make a commission of the drawing he's based on. The helmet would be the only tricky part: maybe it would be this type of helmet with a decal over it?

You can use this as a reference image, but here's a parts list if you want it.

Hair: https://www.interior...part/1467-1.jpg

Head: https://img.bricklin...3626cpb0620.png

Torso: https://www.bricklin...pb0537c02.jpg?1

Arms: grey, with a flesh tone scorp decal like the ones on Wolfy's Nathan Drake minifig

Hands: brown

Legs: brown

Cape: brown

Weapon: Brickwarriors Battle Axe

Happy Building!

Okay, I'll give it to ya...

I like that last drawing (although Necros and the Dark Maiden would never be holding hands).

For whatever reason, the Witch King's, glowy sword really stands out to me. I like the effect!

Yeah, that was more to symbolize that "Hey, look at all our kids!" even though I'm sure only the tenth was the only child they created. Plus, I wanted an excuse to draw Necros again.

Me too! I didn't want to draw it the way I usually draw that sword when I'm drawing lego minifgures, and so I did that.

Anyways, on to the art!

First up, some stuff I forgot to upload to here:

Next, a drawing Nightstalker asked me to draw:

Next, something I made on Easter:

Lastly, the group picture for a Dying Breed:

Wish I had more drawings to upload (because I have three in progress drawings right now) but eh, maybe next update. :P

As always, comments, critiques, and suggestions are always appreciated!

My Face by the time I had finished reading Kate's biography:

It's like all of Marcus' pent up aggression and psychotic-ness was turned into one character: I'm not sure if I should be amazed or terrified.

Maybe both.

#486945 Dalton's Wish Fullfiller 5000 (What do you think Dalton should draw next?)

Posted by Dalton Westmoore on 31 March 2018 - 07:50 PM

MFW I see that this topic is resurrected.

You should draw the young, sexy version of Jesse McCree.

You should be glad I decided not to post this at high noon:

got any ideas for scenes for my animation? Any visuals you could come up with... might just make it in ;)

Honestly, the one thing I would love to see is the use of perspective shots to show how big the Stone Giant is.

You could show how big the giant is by using a couple of different shots:

  1. Show the giant lying on the ground.
  2. Show a small part of him twitching.
  3. Have birds fly out of the trees.
  4. Have smaller animals so crazy on the ground as he rises to his feet.
  5. Pan up the giant as he stands tall, shouldering his sword maybe.
  6. Showing the knight doing something like preparing for a fight or being amazed.

Technically you have a bunch of this stuff already, and the animals would probably be too much of a challenge to animate, but this would really build up the Giant's intimidation factor.

Like I said previously, it might be too much for what you know how to do, but I think it might be cool.

*sigh* Guess it's finally time to stop being a salt lord.

Your drawings have significantly improved with each additional post. For that matter, so has the coloring. In particular, your fantasy drawings have shown a lot of change. Female faces could still use some work, but even those have improved. I'm not exactly an artist (I sure as heck can't draw), but I think the one thing that could definitely help is if you drew more thin faces. Something about the cheek to chin area that kind of throws off your female characters. Again, feel free to ignore me because I have 0% expertise in drawing.

Thanks! I appreciate your comments on my art, even though legos are more your art medium than drawing.

My female faces are going to take a while to get better. I'm more used to drawing male faces because...well, I'm a guy. :P

Looking good, as usual, Dalton! :D I have to agree with Nightstalker that your art has come a long way since you started. I'm particularly enjoying your coloring and the way you handle shading.

That flamingo in particular looks really good, to be honest. I... don't really have much to offer by way of suggestion, as I'm incredibly rusty in the art scene, myself. But I'm intrigued by this "mysterious venator." Maybe he's who you're signing up as if I ever manage to get those sign-ups started? :P

Thanks! Suggestions are more meant for what you guys think I should draw, though they can also be for how I can improve my art.

The mysterious Venator is just Cyrus Malcom, who will be making an appearance in this update.

Speaking of which, let's get on to the art!

First up, here's this stupid thing I made on St. Patrick's day:

Next, here are some things a friend of mine asked me to draw:

Next, Cyrus Malcom, my latest Errant Character:

Penultimately, a Giant:

Lastly, the long-awaited drawing of the Dark Maiden and her Children:

It only took me a year to finally get around to drawing it!
