#486193 Werewolf's Writing Tidbits

Posted by Dalton Kringle on 08 December 2017 - 03:05 PM

I know that , Cappy. It's just when I saw the 'can't/doesn't want to seduce' part of your original post, and I just thought "what if Drake tried to seduce Scaevius?"

It wasn't supposed to be serious, and it was supposed to be funny because they hate each-other. :P

  • Tom trips into someone important, has to charm his way out of it  Edit: Bonus points if it's someone he can't/doesn't want to seduce, but knows he shouldn't fight.  But if you want to show him putting his famous moves on, I won't complain.

For some reason when I read this, I had this mental image of Drake attempting to seduce Scaevius.

I will gladly accept this as a belated birthday gift if you decide to toss aside your morals to write that. :D

But here are some more serious prompts:

  • One of your characters meets one of Scorp's, i.e. Plutarch meets Lysander.
  • Point of view story told by a minor character, for example, a peasant tells a story about meeting Drake. Or alternatively:
  • Point of view story told by a enemy, for example, a undead creature talks about his master being killed.

Have you ever considered trying different methods for coloring? I assume you use colored pencils? The colors look great but they always come out very grainy/pixel-y in the scans you post. Maybe something like markers or colored ink would scan better... I'm not sure, as I usually only color things digitally.

Yeah, I've been trying to find an alternate version of coloring in my drawings, but for now, I'm sticking with the colored pencils.

Do master studies of the artists you like. It's a fancy way of saying you trying to copy their work as closely as possible. Of course this isn't for re-selling, and it's very necessary to credit the original, but this is a great way to find new methods of drawing, and thinking about drawing.

Next I'd say I'd love to see some life-studies of objects. I recommend drawing without looking at your paper. Just look at the thing/person and move your arm. I describe this as "feeling" around the shapes. It's not only great for practicing anatomy and building your reference, it will also give you art a new, clean look. Frankly it also teaches me to draw faster.

That's an interesting Idea! I actually have tried doing something like this with the art style of the 2003 version of the Clone Wars cartoon, but not with too much else.

Anyways, its time for some art!

First up, belated Inktober Drawings!:

Next, more Airship Concept Art:

Next, Fantasy Doodles:

Penultimately, a Demon of Deceit, because I wanted to beat Wolfy/Scorp to the punch on something that should already exist in my fantasy universe:

Lastly, something I sketched at work and finished at home:

#486085 The Mystery Project: Part 3 (UPDATED 11/23)

I love the idea of a giant, stone creature sleeping away as stuff grows over it. Reminds me of the Stone Giants from the Hobbit.

Just out of curiosity, do you instantly get Necromancy when you make a demonic pact? Or is that a separate thing?

You bet there's something not right.

You somehow managed to lose some of your bandages inbetween pages. :P

I guess I'll explain my votes as well.

The preferred weapon thing depends on what situation I'm in. For example, I prefer a machine gun for most normal combat situations, a shotgun for obvious reasons, something that makes explosions because I am crap at aiming in console games, and exotic weapons if I want to do something weird.

I honestly love all these classes (and you can bet I'll do some sort of comic out of the poll thing), but I gotta go with paladin, because Holy Knights are the best at dealing with heretics. :D

I really haven't played too many games recently, so I'm probably not the best for answering this question, but I've gotta go with story. To me, a game can be incredibly immersive and have sweet gameplay, but if it doesn't have a good story to go along with it, I'm going to opt out. For example, one of my friends is recommending that I should play Shadow of War (I am somewhat interested in the game-play mechanic of mind controlling an army of enemy minions), but I am staying away at the moment because it somehow managed to rape ruin the Tolkien canon even more than the hobbit movies did.

Didn't vote for any God-Emperor stuff because THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE

Time to ask more questions!

1: How much does the Inquisiton care about the mistreatment of Magi (i.e. burning them at the stake, experimenting on, etc).

2: What is the signifigence of the gauntlets that both Kye and Scaevius have?

3: How common is it for a normal human to have one of these gauntlets? I have an idea for a Templar character who only uses that to fight people with.

4: How did North and the South react to Ildrius becoming Emperor. I assume that some of them tried to invade (i.e. take advantage of the chaos).

5: What happened to the Imperial Family when Ildrius took over? Did any of them escape being killed? Asking this because I have an idea for a custom faction...

6: Did Ildrius actually do anything good for the empire (i.e. expand boarders, driving off invaders) while he was Mage-Emperor, or was he just an insane tyrant?

I love what you've written so far! It would be interesting to see if we could supply prompts.

If so, here's one that I've thought about turning into a little short story like these:

Ildrius does something that makes him look inspiring.

Good set of minifig! I love how the Mage Emperor looks. Elric also looks pretty sweet.

Glad some figs of mine could be of assistance.

It's not the first time, nor will it be the last. ;)

Anyways, here's the First Part of a Lego Dump of stuff I've been saving for a while.

First up, something that I made recently:

Origionally, I was trying to see if I could make a Panzerhund with peices that I already had, but it turned into me making an Undead Mount and a Vampire Necromancer along with it. The Necromancer definitely isn't inspired by aaany of Nightstalker's minifigs. :D

Gah! So that's where the leftover Gandalf head went from making Mage Emperor Ildrius!

Here's something that I made with pieces from the Doctor Strange set:

Now here's it with some adventurers:

Now here are the adventurers:

From left to right we have: Xi the Red Magi, Horatio the Strong, Sir Liam Neilsson, Runewit the Wizard, and Hollis the Green Knight.

Lastly, here's a little moc I built just for my Nox Minifig:

Better pics of the Minifigs:

The decals for Nox came out amazing! Hopefully Scorp will add his decals for him soon, because I bet some people would love to have some too. The Demon, Hooksward, came out okay as well (he's just a Ash Attacker with Brickwarriors armor), but Nox is a thousand times more bad@$$.

Shot of the Moc without minifigs:

It was inspired by the idea of a secluded, sacred place of worship, like the Weirwood trees from Game of Thrones, and the idea of altars to Unknown gods.

Anyways, that's it for now! Feedback would be appreciated, and stay tuned for part two!
