MS Paint Adventures has inspired me to try my own hand at a Choose Your Own Adventure (CYOA) story. It will be easier to draw and keep up with while the webcomic is on hold, I hope. This is because I will be adopting a more simplistic, cartoonish art style to save time. It will also have that MSPA 'video game' look where the character is a sort of 'sprite' hovering over the background in most shots, except when performing an important action.
I haven't worked out the style completely yet, but we'll get to that once we've kicked off. I'm just too eager to get started.
Here's how it will work:
STEP 1: Picking a character archetype. The first CYOA will be set in Wulfgard. If all goes well, I'll do a Nova Refuge one later. Each archetype will explore a different part of the Wulfgard world. I'm trying to pick unusual things here that most people would not 'role-play,' in order to keep things interesting and explore areas of Wulfgard that might otherwise not be experienced.
Just vote on one of these archetypes in the poll above:IMPERIAL PEASANT - You are a young peasant in the Imperial village of Stonebridge. Where you go in life is up to you.
TEMPLARIA SCULPTOR - You are an impoverished Imperial artist who creates statues of the gods for the temples in Templaria.
SHAMAN'S HELPER - You are the assistant of a shaman in a Northern village. It's a privileged position... sort of.
TRAVELING SALESMAN - You are a very poor Southerner who scavenges anything he can find and then goes looking for
DWARVEN CART-PULLER - You are a mountain dwarf whose job it is to pull the cart of a merchant who travels between the underground city of Duringard and the surface world of the North.
ELVEN WOODCUTTER - You are a Light Elf whose job it is to cut down trees for lumber. Like, for buildings and stuff. It's a dirty job for an elf, but somebody's gotta do it.
Whoever wins the poll will be the first character. If you guys manage to get him/her killed, we might just move on to the runner-up.

We'll get to the other steps later. I don't want to overwhelm you.
I might even work some 'medals' (like the contest rewards) you can earn into this game, but I won't say how.
