#489439 The LEGO M7 Medium Tank Project 2

Posted by Neyo Wargear on 23 May 2020 - 08:45 PM

I reckon I should show my new V5.

Spoiler

Very minor changes I can't recall off the top of my head.

Spoiler

A 'what if?' look at the M7 Medium Tank with Culin hedgerow cutters if they had been sent to Europe at the Normandy invasion. The 'hedge-breaching device' was made out of Czech hedgehog tank obstacles on the beaches to restore mobility to armored units and prevent bottlenecking of American forces into German ambushes. Tanks fitted with these devices were called Rhino tanks.

Spoiler

M7 Medium Tank with deep wading equipment. This allows them to ford depths greater than 3ft. The first variant is Army standard while the second was a Marines variant. The tan pieces represent canvas covers over the gun mantlet and hull-mounted MG to prevent water from entering the vehicle whilst underway.

Cheers.

All of this art looks awesome! I especially like Kaiju and drawing process ones. I wish you had some descriptions for them.

Thanks and I went back and added descriptions to all the images in my previous art dump.

Also, a little lore for the Riders of Ruin.

Can't put my finger on it, but the 2nd and 3rd pics are giving me Goblin Slayer vibes (even though that clearly isn't him). Nice artwork!

Could have been a variety of aspects: overhanging upper helmet, fur collar, small breastplate, and crossing belts. Though I drew a lot of inspiration from the Anjanath armor set from Monster Hunter World.

#489431 Art of a Wargear

Art.

Spoiler

Here we see the seven headed hydra Perdition with his bright and beautiful, but warning markings of black, orange, and teal. Perdition has 4 different head shapes: Dominant, Secondary, Manipulative, and Tail.

Spoiler

I was looking at something from back in 2016, my Rider of Ruin. They're supposed to be an elite knight force that ride upon the backs of wyverns.

Spoiler

A female Rider of Ruin with a lance.

Spoiler

Someone on Discord wanted me to show them how I draw, so I did. The smoke background was done by scribbling and then rubbing my thumb to blend the graphite into a smokey effect and then took an orange colored pencil to make a dot and then rapidly drag it upward to emulate the visual of falling embers.

Spoiler

Decided to draw a Hellenic warrior with a bit more armor than usual.

Spoiler

Wanted to draw a Roman gladiator because I love Thraex helms and wanted to work on musculature.

Spoiler

Asked on Discord for what I should draw. Got a short list of Crocodile Rock, a lobster, cool crab, and an enemy from Warframe.

Cheers.

#489428 The LEGO T71 Detroit Arsenal Light Tank Project

Posted by Neyo Wargear on 18 May 2020 - 08:08 PM

V4 version.

Spoiler

Changes: Headlights, tail lights, rear tow pintle hitch, improved rear detailing, improved internal structuring, T-shaped muzzle brake akin to other American tanks of the era (for example M48 Patton).

V4 modernized. M71 Airborne Light Tank
Spoiler

Changes: Additon of smoke dispensors (grenade launchers) on turret sides and an AN/VSS-1(A) infrared spotlight to right turret face. Infrared equipment had been mounted on tanks as early as 1944 with the first type being the German FG 1250 Sperber (Sparrow Hawk) infrared Nachtjager (night fighting) vision scope. It was mounted on a Panzerkampfwagen V Panther Ausfuhrung G.

V4 extra punch.
Spoiler

Changes: Addition of four AGM-22 Anti-Tank Guided Missiles to turret face. This is based on the French AMX-13/75 (SS.11) light tank which also had an oscillating turret and made during the same time as the T71 Detroit Arsenal Light Tank. The French SS.11 (SS=Sol-Sol=ground-to-ground) ATGM was an improved version of the SS.10 which was based on the German Ruhrstahl X-7 ATGM which was derived from the Ruhrstahl X-4, originally meant to use in aerial combat against other planes. SS.10, SS.11, and SS.12 ATGM's are manual control to line of sight (MCLOS) wire-guided ATGM's meaning that once fired, the gunner must control the missile with a joystick whilst the controls are given via the wire connecting the missile to the launcher and thus the controller. This targeting system required the tank be stationary as the gunner had to maintain line of sight on his target and guide the missile the entire way. The American AGM-22 is a license built copy of the French SS.11 ATGM and considering the AMX-13/75 (SS.11) was given four SS.11's was to give the aging chassis a longer and harder hit against more modern targets. The US probably would have done the same thing for their light tanks as well.

Cheers.

I can only run this game on medium which doesn't do it enough justice, but it's still beautiful.
