Are they going to change the story, maybe bring in Toph earlier or give us more Azula? I wouldn't mind a few changes here and there, I suppose.

Ehh, I'm not really into the idea of introducing Season 2 characters early. I think that the only character who could work with something like that is Azula, because she was set up pretty well in Season 1 by being mentioned by other characters or appearing in flashbacks. I'd like it if Azula/Toph did appear in Season 1, that they would not directly meet Team Avatar until Season 2. If I had a preference to who could be introduced in Season 1, maybe we could have the Rough Rinos be in the Jet episode.

The main thing that I'm afraid that they'll do with the show is try to make political statements with it, which I cannot stand because it is rarely set up well.

Also, my other fear is bad cgi. Series of Unfortunate events has given me a health fear of the...quality of Netflix's special effects.

I mean, I'll keep an open mind, but the way Konietzko and DiMartino throw animation under the bus in that quote and continue this cockamamie idea that your stories don't count until they're filmed with real actors is just really disappointing.

I really hope they only said that because Netflix gave them a show, because Avatar has fantastic animation and it really seems from that quote that they only went with it because it was there only option at the time.

The only thing this show has going for it for me at the moment is that the original creators are helming this (so the adaption shouldn't be that bad, hopefully), and that the diverse cast of the original show won't be replaced with a bunch of famous white actors (which is another problem that anime adaptions suffer from because Hollywood only cares about diversity when it wants to).

I am interested in seeing if they will be bringing in some familiar faces that would be 'culture appropriate' for the show, like Donny Yen or Chow yun Fat.

Sad I missed out of Frederick, but hopefully he'll be coming to the shop soon!

Decided to post in this finally lol

As always, great minifigs and good bits of lore too. I love the inclusion of superhero type characters and the idea that Sareshi intentionality dress that way in order to attract and capture men. Valanar also reminds me of the Nameless One from my Age of Darkness thing I keep talking about.

If youre looking for more representation for minorities in fantasy, you might be interested in two practically overlooked book series known as Lord of the Rings and the Chronicles of Narnia.

You could say that these depictions of them are outdated or racist, but I prefer to think of it being historically accurate to how these minorities acted and/or were perceived as in real life in this time period (i.e. everyone stayed in their land unless they were trading or killing each other).

Please dont perceive this as an attack on your fantasy universe: Im just complaining about something that bothers me about most modern fantasy/storytelling.
