#424022 M-35 Mako [Mass Effect]

Posted by Henchmen4Hire on 14 April 2014 - 08:10 PM

I updated the LXF again just now, now complete with cannon :)

I have it like 70% brick built and it's pretty sturdy, just the sidewalls are kinda wobbly. There's nothing fancy going on inside, all basic building. I made the engine part a solid mass so it's heavier, so a strong rubberband wont force the wheels together lol.

Eventually I'll probably brickbuild an engine and try to fit it in there, I just want this damn thing done!

#408394 M-44 Hammerhead [Finished!]

Posted by Henchmen4Hire on 26 June 2013 - 02:45 AM

Here's the Hammerhead almost done, needs some work in back, which should be trivial. I'm glad everything has been falling into place, the build techniques are still very simple and I don't think I've used any rare parts. As far as I can tell the model should be sturdy.

#407645 How Not to Get Killed: A Guide for New Adventurers

Posted by Henchmen4Hire on 18 June 2013 - 05:34 AM

I'm guessing the next tip will be "Turn over every rock, you never know where there may be treasure hiding... or a rock troll!"

Then a picture of adventurer finding said rock troll :P

#405223 Curved Female Torso

Some more examples of SS's decals on these curved torsos:

By the way, if anyone is going to order the Colonial Marine, be aware that the color under the kneepads will be Sand Green, not Dark Tan as shown in the store. I simply cut out the Sand Green areas.

#404896 Curved Female Torso

I wanted to see how a female LEGO minifigure would look with more of an hourglass torso so I did a little dremeling and sanding.

I like this result a lot more than Arealight's curved torsos, the difference being that my curve runs from under the armpit to the waist while Arealight's is a lot shorter.

I did this all freehand and it looks pretty good. The chest design is cut into a bit because it was slightly off-center to begin with.

I'll probably add this curviness to my upcoming Samus Aran custom Minifig.

#404842 Samus Aran (Metroid)

Posted by Henchmen4Hire on 27 May 2013 - 07:24 PM

Ordered a set of decals and one of them was Samus. Not happy with just adding a sticker, here are some ideas for making the figure even cooler.

This is a straight-up LDD build with photoshopped decals. I like it because it's simple and effective. I'd have to paint the robot arm orange and helmet red.

And I might get crazy and go further! I already cut a trans-neon-green visor to fit roughly into the GP's visor area, as shown here. Next step would be to cut the chest armor so only the red area remains, that way the chest protrudes. Probably attach some orange 1x1 round plates to the shoulders with tape so they're flexible. Then I'd cut the red part out of the sticker and stick that to the armor. I'll have to get another whole chest piece sticker to put on the torso.

I really like this one, it has some much needed added height too.

Also, I may just splice the bottom part of some orange legs to the yellow uppers because I don't feel like painting, the stickers would cover the seam anyway.

Thoughts?
