Sony Corp. 6758.TO -1.87% is planning to offer technology to stream games to its next videogame console, people familiar with the company's plans say, alongside other enhancements to bolster its position in the market.

The new technology, to be unveiled Wednesday along with the new console, will allow users to play games delivered over the Internet, these people said. The streaming service, they added, is designed to use current PlayStation 3 titles on the new console; the new device is also expected to play new games stored on optical discs.

Sony's plans come after it acquired Gaikai Inc. last year for $380 million. Though many companies now offer simple games over the Internet, Gaikai was one of several companies that offered online access to visually intense games, which ordinarily require specialized circuitry found on high-end personal computers and gaming consoles.

The streaming technology is one of the new features and enhancements expected to be offered with the new console, which Sony plans to unveil at an event in New York. Sony's new PlayStation, for example, may control the action with higher fidelity cameras for its "Move" motion-sensing technology and touch-sensing pads on new controllers, according to people who have seen and been briefed on the devices.

Wall street Journal now is stating PS4 will feature Streaming of PS3 games. I question how well this will work. I have always been critical of the Cloud gaming idea. Bandwidth is not here yet. Sure for Japan it is fine, but where I live it is not. As Gaikai/Onlive don't function for me with my internet even for a test run. Also confirms the controller again having "touch pads" :P

Bungie's Destiny in classic Vdoc format. Might not be Xbox 720 exclusive in 2013.

I too am very excited Darknoon. I hope Knights of the New Empire could be as exciting as the KOTOR series was when it arrived. There is a potential that they could develop it like Mass Effect in a way with the talk of less Jedi being around. Although Jedi typically end up as the main character. :P

OUYA makes an announcement and even takes a stab at WiiU's digital content system locking IDs to one console and such. As OUYA will have a setup more like STEAM. Log in to any OUYA and have the same content.

OUYA will evolve every year. So don't worry about being late to the game. The new console will only cost you $99 bucks as well. Don't worry its backwards compatible 100%. So all OUYA 1 games work with OUYA 2000 or so I believe.

Crysis 3 just looks awesome in their new trailer.

What a boring, derivative trailer. Complete with lame music.

Unadventurous cyberpunk, uninteresting trailer. Though it's certainly too early to judge the game, which I expect will be good, has that trailer really got anybody that excited? Even for a teaser trailer, I thought it revealed nothing worthwhile.

wha, wha, what? You are not excited? That is the Target render of what CDProject RED want the game to look like and it will have that atmosphere that is present in the trailer in the game according to them. Meaning they want it to look that just like that graphically in real time when they release it. On a side note that means the game is 100% confirmed next generation title + it will come after their other project. Sadly looking like 2014/2015 release at the earliest, but it will be amazing. Their other project coming which we all know as Witcher 3. :P

Watch it again at 720 or 1080 resolution and imagine controlling it with those graphics. Not possible you say? We are only beginning to see what DirectX 11 and latest OpenCL, OpenRL, OpenGL API series can do. Another year or so when those new consoles hit. Everyone will be floored.

Also Witcher 3 trailer in bound February 5th. There is no way around seeing that one coming. I am still not done catching up with Witcher story.

Ravaged Free Weekend + 66% off the MP action title. Looks amazing. Definitely want.

Valve has done the unthinkable. Modular computing!! This is Valve's PC/Console or a sample of what they are aiming to produce.

They have partnered up with Xi3 Who the heck are they? Check out their website or the video below as their site gives me 503 at the moment for capacity problems. Honestly I was thinking wtf? Until I saw that not only does this little box hold a great deal of PC power, but you can upgrade it in a flash if you have a new board for it. Although none of this is showcasing the new Valve/Xi3 box just yet or any spec details. It is at CES though so or so it is said to be so it might be showcased to the public soon.

I also found out they started out with Kickstarter showing what they imagine their planned X3A and X7A Specs. Take a look at them below and believe that it might be possible to upgrade at some point as well.

The X3A will be the company’s budget modular PC, which will run a 1.65GHz dual-core processor and boast 4GB of RAM with at least 32GB of SSD storage (up to 1TB). If Xi3 meets their funding goals, the X3A is expected to ship this January for a price starting at $499. The company’s more-powerful model, the X7A, will feature up to a 3.2GHz quad-core processor with 4GB-8GB of RAM and at least 64GB of SSD storage (up to 1TB as well). This model is expected to ship in February for a starting price of $1,100.

Wait a minute I got one better. Valve's Piston Xi3 system!

At last the 2nd trailer has arrived. Looks quite impressive to me. So far only confirmed for PS3/X360 it looks like, but PC version is coming without a doubt in my mind. Rumors of WiiU kits in Rockstar hands for awhile even back in early 2012. Its possible we see a later WiiU launch in 2013 alongside PC version? If its coming to WiiU Nintendo would very likely want to make a big deal about it at a press event. I only see GDC, and E3 2013 as possibilities.

Valve is prepping Source 2.0 for next generation. If not its another trolling from Valve, but hey this is a positive thing I believe. Confirmation of Half-Life 3 is likely to follow at some point couple years later. Maybe anyway. Yall should know valve time by now.

Black Friday Game Sales Ads!! Lots of games $25 bucks. Like LittleBigPlanet Karting, Madden 13, Dishonored, Need for Speed Most Wanted, and maybe other titles. Dead Island for $10 bucks, Assassin's Creed 3 for $39, Super Mario Galaxy $15, WWE 13 $25, XCom EU $25, Battlefield 3 Premium Edition $25, and many more games on sale.http://gametestlab.c...aming-list.html

Disney's Star Wars The Old Republic goes Free to play Next week!! (I just had to say it this way.)

Slicon Knights still have a couple of weeks to destroy all their software as they have been ordered to get rid of all copies of their games pretty much. I think Rising is the only game they will have moving forward into 2013.http://www.eurogamer...en-destiny-more

Elder Scrolls Online Developer Diary. So far it doesn't sound as bad as I expected. A shard less server system. So game profiles are not locked to say one server. A big plus for MMO players.http://www.youtube.com/watch?&v=KxJTsq2XeKY

Warface Beta inbound. So game is launching within 3 months.

Wii U tablet controller's built-in mic will NOT be usable for in-game voice chat and Nintendo will not be making a headset for it, so Wii U owners will have to shell out $40 for a third-party headset if they want to make use of voice chat in online games.

Also, the Pro Controller will not have a headset port, so if you want to use it to play your online shooters, you'll need to sit the tablet next to you or on your lap or something with the headset plugged into it.

Well there is also WiiU Chat. I assume WiiU Chat will be universal with keyboard built into the gamepad touch screen interface for typing. No details yet other than confirmation that its marked on the boxes for WiiU.

They could also go wireless with their headset. I assume that is what they are aiming at with WiiU headsets. Unless they are playing more than 10 hours a day. Depending on the headset some last up to 10 hours with charge. Maybe more or less I don't know. Which honestly should be enough for anyone. Possibly Nintendo is doing this to keep the verbal abuse down on online networks.

Don't know if you guys have seen the new Bioshock trailer. Looks awesome.

Also they are giving you a free puzzled based flash game if you pre-order Bioshock Infinite. That unlocks in-game content. Check it out!

Ok guys. I found a few big things in past 24 hours. :P

1. Sony Buys GaiKai. So the rumors were true afterall. PS3/PS4/Vita/PC potential cross platform service. Could you imagine playing Platnetside 2 on PC then on PSVita on the go, PS3 at a friends house, or PS4 in your living room. All connected to the same game servers. Now its actually possible. When the bandwidth wagon catches up to it.

2. Rome: Total War II Officially announced for 2013!! Sounds and looks awesome.

3. Vivendi to step down from controlling Activision/Blizzard. Selling its 61% of shares in the company. If not in bulk will be shredded among the masses. So its a very random chance of who could buy them.

So far this E3 I am getting a glimpse of next gen social interaction. Well apparently every console will have an app for you to log into to connect with each brand on any mobile device. Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo have all confirmed this today! Likely with different varying levels of interaction, but still its a push I see from all three.

If they're releasing this game on PS3 with a hardware bundle, my guess is they won't announce the PS4. Why advertise a new package when you've got a new console coming out?

Man, these playtesters suck at this game.

Yup. My bet is 100% on them waiting on Microsoft to duke it out at the same E3 show with new consoles.

Has anyone else noticed that other than info on WoW and TOR updates, there's been pretty much nothing that's PC exclusive this year? You can feel it in the air- PC gaming has drawn its last breath.

SOE has 3-4 new MMOs.

Epic has full Unreal Engine 4 presentation on the 7th.

Watch Dogs, Star Wars 1313, and other multiplatform titles are clearly being shown off on PC format.

Am I the only one who wasn't actually there and won't be? Seriously, this is like reading a Twitter feed.

Watchdogs better be for 360 too; no way my laptop can handle such glory.

Apparently Watch Dogs will be for PC, PS3, X360 or well PS3/X360 might just be placeholder for next gen counter parts. I am hoping that Nintendo reveals that Watch Dogs is coming to WiiU as well at their conference. That demo is definitely running on PC hardware. If there is a PS3/X360 version I don't expect the same level of detail in the game. I am hoping Nintendo has many cards coming to the table tomorrow. I personally expect Medal of Honor, NFS, CoD, Watch Dogs, and many other high profile game properties to be announced for it.

Ubisoft is running E3 this year it seems. Its amazing. Sadly I am missing PS4. I had high hopes for it, but suspected early on that Microsoft and Sony wouldn't reveal unless they were side by side.

I don't know if you guys caught any of the EA conference today, but I have an addiction to bashing police in Need for Speed. There is also Dead Space 3, TOR Free to Play up to Level 15, Medal of Honor Modern Warfighter MP, Crysis 3, BF 3 Premium shown. Oh yeah as well as Simcity.

Check out the new open world Need for Speed Most Wanted by Criterion teaser. Can they make a game like BO: Paradise for Need for Speed work? :P

Some Actual gameplay as well. Now this looks like a Next gen NFS title. Totally awesome. I personally love it.

I love some FPS. This time made entirely by Danger Close. So no DICE doing the MP. So it should be a nice change up.

If you guys have not seen Star Wars 1313. Its a shame. Its like a super HD Uncharted version of Star Wars. Bounty Hunter + Uncharted formula = badass game. The graphics literally look like its from a Star Wars film.

Sony buys Gaikai or inks a major cloud gaming deal?

Basically if this becomes true. Sony phones, PS Vita, PS3, PS4. Will all be capable of playing PS4 or grander quality game titles anywhere in the world. I wonder if this is Sony's solution to not having full power of Unreal Engine 4 on PS4 maybe? I have heard rumor that Epic doesn't believe next gen consoles will push the full power of Unreal Engine 4.

This is amazing. Battlefield 3 PC edition quality and player count on PS Vita is now possible if true. Well Crysis 5 Extreme edition on CryEngine 4 would also be possible on PS Vita if true or even PS3.

Gaikai hasn't confirmed anything yet, but they have send out invites to many parties to come to E3 to get a show. So some type of deal with Gaikai has been reached. I don't know if it involves Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo, but there have been lots of rumors aimed at Sony in the past couple of days. Here are some of Gaikai's words.

Now this morning Gaikai has sent out invitations to journalists for what it is heralding as a game-changing announcement.
“Gaikai has some major announcements in store for E3 that have the potential to change the future of video games, game consoles and how we play,” it reads.

What do you guys think?
