There's a teaser for the Netflix Punisher series:
btw, did anyone watch The Defenders? It's the big crossover series with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, and it came out a few days ago, and boy it was quite poor. Easily the worst of all the Marvel Netflix shows I've seen so far (I didn't watch the Iron Fist solo show). Sigourney Weaver plays the most cliche villain you've ever seen, a snooty woman who appreciates the finer things in life, as demonstrated when she has a literal string quartet play classical music for her, and then again when her assistant walks up to complement her on her amazing taste in classical music just in case you didn't get it. In one of the later episodes she tells Iron Fist, "We're not so different, you and I", and then the very next episode a different character says the same line, also to Iron Fist.
The icing on the cake is that all the fight scenes are your standard incoherent strings of split-second shots of two figures in black clothes flailing at eachother in the darkness to a soundtrack of biffs. There are so many of them, and they're all so rubbish it's just exhausting. Iron Fist doesn't even know kung fu; any time he has to get into a fighting stance he just puts up his dukes and hops from side to side mean-muggin'.
So I don't know what to expect from a Punisher series any more. The Marvel Netflix shows were pretty reliable for having a good first few episodes and then falling apart towards the end, but it seems like Iron Fist was awful all the way through and Defenders was just perfectly mediocre. I really like Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, but at this point that's no guarantee of a good show.
