Don't blink, don't open your eyes, don't breathe, don't turn around, and now don't think.
There are things you can do that won't cause some alien monster to kill you, right?
No?
It should also be noted I have pretty drunk.

I haven't watched Dr. Who in a while (Sorry) but I wanted to share this with you guys.
The other day, I saw a Dark Blue Fiat 500 that had a Police Public Call Box decal on the back, and its licence plate read: The TRDS (The Tardis).
My mom thought it read: The Turds. XD

I've gotten a lot less interested in Doctor Who as it's become the "cool" thing to like, because there are so many fans out there that I just do not care to associate with (mainly lots of annoying people I know)...
But dang this looks good...

Series 9 just started.
...That was delightfully insane. And the most continuity cavalcade since the RTD era.
Spoilers!
And this was only Part 1. The entire season is made up of 2-parters. And this was a hell of a bang to start it out.

After Davros' speech back in the season opener I didn't think anyone would be able to top it, but Capaldi just smashed it and it really worked with his version of the Doctor. I don't think Tennant, Smith or Eccleston could have done it.For your consideration, a thesis on why Peter Capaldi's Twelve is the best Doctor:

Hey guys there's a new Doctor:
It's Jodie Whittaker, who you might know from Attack the Block or Broadchurch, or that one episode of Black Mirror. I have to say, I never caught an especially Doctor-y vibe from her, but then she wasn't playing especially Doctor-y characters. I really liked her on Broadchurch, so I might have to come back and watch an episode or two of her Doctor-ing it up.

I really hope she gets a strong series to start with. Capaldi was phenomenal so he'll be a tough act to follow, but I'm very excited for something new.
It is genuinely one of the top news stories here in the UK, it's dominating the TV and radio. Over here Doctor who is a full on cultural institution.

Except cancelling Firefly. Because that's just not cool.

Eh, I didn't rate most of this episode. David Bradley was good, but bringing up the Doctor formerly being written as a sexist was a mistake. Hartnell's Doctor also made some fairly racist remarks, but they obviously didn't try playing that for laughs. It jarred with the identity of the Doctor, and was honestly pretty uncomfortable and forced.
Plus, the episode had a very bare-bones and uninteresting plot that padded out most the run-time, realised with some teeeeerrible visual effects. Rusty's cameo was bizarre and pointless also. I did really like the emotional pay-off for the final 15 minutes, and Capaldi's beautiful two closing speeches. It felt like busywork getting to that point, though.
Glad to see Moffat's run is over. He oversaw some of the best series of the show in its history, but he's gotten indulgent and it's time for something new. I'm gutted to see Capaldi go as he's become one of my all-time favourite Doctors (plus I love the Thick of It), but I'm excited to see what Chibnall and Whittaker can bring to this show. It definitely needs a new direction and some new ideas.

Capaldi was by far my favourite doctor. Heaven Sent is a magnificent hour of television, and showed just what a phenomenal actor he is.
David Bradley was very good, he really channels William Hartnell. Hopefully he might get some of the more Tenant onwards focussed fanbase to look at classic Who.
Incredibly excited for the new series, Jodie Whittaker already feels perfect after two words. A fresh start is always an exciting prospect.
Except cancelling Firefly. Because that's just not cool.
