#489175 Art of a Wargear

Posted by Neyo Wargear on 03 December 2019 - 10:56 PM

Well, it's been almost 4 months. It's until yesterday I figured out how to use my scanner on my new printer.

Here's a song to go with the first drawing.
https://www.youtube....h?v=yvSNYSzASww

Spoiler

I'm not your gateway. I'm not your prodigal son. I am the vile lesser-than. Just who do you think I am?
I'm not your standard. I'm not your vision divine. I am no sacrificial lamb. Just who do you think I am?
I am Death. I am Death. I am Death. I am Death.
I'm not your sacrifice. I'm not your shelter in the storm. I am determinately man. Just who do you think I am?
I'm not your child. I;m not your paragon of just. I am by other means damned. Just who do you think I am?
I am Death. I am Death. I am Death. I am Death!
I am Death (Just who do you think I am?). I am Death (Just who do you think I am?). I am Death (Just who do you think I am?). I am Death (Just who do you think I am?).

Description: The T2 3in Light Self-Propelled Howitzer is the result when a T1A1 Arlington Light Tank has it's turret and T2A2 1in L/96 Automatic Tank Gun replaced with a superstructure and a T1A1 3in L/18 (4.5ft) Howitzer. It features heavier armor than both the T1A1 3in Light Self-Propelled Howitzer and T1 5in Medium Self-Propelled Howitzer as it retained the armor thickness of the T1A1 Arlington Light Tank. It was much, much faster than the aging T1A1 3in LSPH and replaced it when available. It also featured a T1 0.5in HMG in a cupola turret, providing the vehicle defense against aircraft and infantry.

Spoiler

Name: T1 Arlington Heavy Tank
Armament: T1A2 3in/76.2mm L/48 Tank Gun, T2A2 1in/25.4mm L/96 Automatic Tank Gun, T1 0.5in HMG x3
Armor: 4.75in/120.65mm to 2in/50.8mm
Hull: 4in/3in/2in
Turret: 4.75in/3.5in/3.5in
Weight: 55 tons
Crew Size: 5 (Driver, Co-Driver, Gunner, Loader, Commander)
Top Speed: 25MPH
Engine Strength: 865HP
Description: The T1 Arlington Heavy Tank was the first Triumvirtian turreted heavy tank and the first tank to have a horizontal volute spring suspension system. It was also the first to have a rear mounted transmission and drive sprocket alongside a sideskirt. It was powered by a massive 865hp locomotive engine which resulted in a very large silhouette but could propel the 55 ton metallic beast to a respectable speed of 25mph. The 12 ft long T1A2 3in L/48 Tank Gun has a variety of rounds consisting of an Armor Piercing-Tracer (AP-T), High Explosive (HE), Grapeshot (GS), and White Phosphorus (WP). An Armor Piercing Capped-Tracer (APC-T) round would be developed soon after the production of this vehicle type. A gyrostabilizer was installed in the turret and allowed good accuracy on the move.

Spoiler

Name: T1 6in Heavy Self-Propelled Gun
Armament: T1 6in/152.4mm L/40 Gun, T1 0.3in MG, T1 0.5in HMG
Armor: 3.5in/88.9mm to 2in/50.8mm
Hull: 3.5in/2.5in/2in
Superstructure: 2in/2in/2in
Weight: 33 tons
Crew Size: 7
Top Speed: 22MPH
Engine Strength: 2x 265HP
Description: The T1 6in Heavy Self-Propelled Gun was the first heavy self-propelled artillery piece of the Order of the Triumvirate. Taking the aging T1A2 Mundelein HT, they move the engine compartment to the center of the vehicle and installed a superstructure in the rear to counterbalance the 20ft long T1 6in L/40 Gun. An earth spade was on the hull rear to be deployed once the T1 6in HSPG was ready to fire. The vehicle was designed to deal with well reinforced positions and to hammer enemy dug in positions. All crews were trained to use the vehicle in direct fire mode against infantry and even enemy armor and at times it was called upon to take out enemy tanks in advantageous positions.

Spoiler

Name: T2A1 Arlington Medium Tank
Armament: T2A2 2in/50.8mm L/48 Automatic Tank Gun, T1 0.3in MG x2, T1 0.5in HMG
Armor: 4.5in/114.3mm to 2in/50.8mm
Hull: 3.5+1in/2.75in/2in
Turret: 3.5+1in/2.75in/2in
Weight: 27.1 tons
Crew Size: 5 (Driver, Co-Driver, Gunner, Loader, Commander)
Top Speed: 32MPH
Engine Strength: 370HP
Description: The T2A1 Arlington Medium Tank was a major modification of the vehicle that included the front hull or glacis plate being thickened and resetting the angle so that the hatches of the driver and co-driver didnt protrude. These protrusions were weak points in the upper glacis plate of the tank. There was also the addition of 1in stand-off plates on the turret front and hull front as spaced armor for additional protection. The cupola turret was modified to allow greater depression by increasing the cupola turrets height. The new T2A2 2in L/48 Automatic Tank Gun was simply a T2A1 2in L/48 Automatic Tank Gun with a muzzle brake fitted to prevent obscuration from dust kickup down range. Later on an improved ammunition type was created, an Armor Piercing Capped Ballistic Capped-High Explosive-Tracer (APCBC-HE-T) round which turned the round into shrapnel upon penetration which devastated the interior of vehicles. Rounds available to the T2A1 2in L/48 could be fired without problem from the new T2A2 2in L/48. T1 1.5in Smoke Grenade Launchers were mounted externally on the turrets left side for creating cover, but made it impossible to reload the launchers internally. Vehicles already in the field were issued conversion kits and to be converted at the earliest time while vehicles sitting in depots were mandated to be converted before being shipped out.

Spoiler

Name: T1A2 Arlington Light Tank
Armament: T2A3 1in/25.4mm L/96 Automatic Tank Gun, T1 0.3in MG x2, T1 0.5in HMG
Armor: 3in/76.2mm to 1in/25.4mm
Hull: 2+0.5in/1.5in/1in
Turret: 2.5+0.5in/2in/2in
Weight: 16 tons
Crew Size: 4 (Driver, Co-Driver, Gunner, Commander/Loader)
Top Speed: 40MPH
Engine Strength: 290HP
Description: The T1A2 Arlington LT has a slightly modified new gun, the T2A3 1in L/96 Automatic Tank Gun is belt fed instead of magazine fed and mounts a muzzle brake at the end of the barrel to allow clearer fire. Canvas bags are beneath the gun to catch spent casings and due the main gun being belt fed, the fire rate of the weapon could be increased, but mandated more ventilators in the turret due to the amount of gasses produced by the weapon. The new T2A3 1in L/96 Automatic Tank Gun had a new round developed for it, a High Velocity Armor Piercing Capped-Tracer (HVAPC-T) type. The round had a much higher muzzle velocity than the previous rounds and allowed greater penetration of armored targets. Half inch stand-off plates (spaced armor) was added to the turret and hull fronts for improved protection. The addition of T1 1.5in Smoke Grenade Launchers on the turrets left side allowed the vehicle to provide cover, but had to be reloaded by a crew member externally.

#489157 Dalton's Assorted Artwork and Random Stuff

Moraki the Fallen looks interesting, but hard to tell. The little flesh golems by his throne were nifty.

You did a good job with the pose of the fairy.

The Mandalorian art was nice, the colors are good. I want to start doing digital art primarily for coloring because once you commit traditionally, there's no going back, so that's a little stressful.

As for the Steven Universe art, it's cool to see you take a more realistic approach to it. A very different change of pace, but a good one.

Awesome job!

What program are you using to render these? I feel like you may have said this before, but I don't remember...

Thank you!

I'm using the built-in rendering program in Studio 2.0, Eyesight.

Someone one suggested a different sandbag technique to use on my tank and I decided to use.

#488938 The LEGO M6A1 (T1E1) Heavy Tank Project

Posted by Neyo Wargear on 28 August 2019 - 12:47 PM

Spoiler

A 'what if?' look at the M6A1 Heavy Tank if it had participated in the Second World War, namely the European Theater.

Spoiler

One crew has added sandbags to their tank to protect it against shaped charges like the Panzerfaust. The other crew has opted to go with wood in the form of planks and logs. Both have bolted wooden boards to their armored suspension to improve protection against shaped charges.

Spoiler

Both crews have extensive stowage of supplies upon the engine decks of their tanks. Both crews have managed to find a bicycle in working order to ride during the rare lulls in combat.

I might try a difference technique for the sand bags.

Cheers.
