Hey, Wolfy, remember when I sent you that thing about Shades? Well, I've powered them down to the point where they're not really unfairly powerful, anymore, but will they work at all in Wylfgard?

2. Are the dwarves bothered by any creatures and what does it look like if so
3. Is Scorp excistent in Wylfgard, if so, how would his armor look
4. How would Jade get new armor if she was lost in a forest far from anywhere?
5. Can I use the dwarven sets for the Blackrune City?
6. How would the dwarves react to Tom asking them for new armor and weapons?
7. Should I make Alx un my comic? If so, should I mention... you know what rolleyes.gif
8. Is there a mountain range bordering the Empire?
9. Would Necromancers be evil and they attack them?
10. Is there an underworld?
11. For my comic can I make My own country? Please, Please?

Umm, there is a few problems wrong with that list: Like Wolfy stated before, it's her world, she decided what's in and what's not, that goes with characters, forests, cities, and definitly countries perhaps it could be some sort of underground society or something...

OK, I'm normally a Sci-Fi guy, but I've always wondered a few things about Wylfgard:
1. Are goblins a major force?; are they allied under one leader/board of leaders, or are they all split into many groups?
2. Are there any sentient golems (is that how you spell it?) wandering about, or do they have to be under the control of a spellcaster?
3. Are explosives, in any form, in existance?

Are Imperial names usually normal (like Tom Mitchell) or fantasic (like Doraius or Sir Scaevius)?
I also have a couple of questions about weapons. In the Empire, is it unusual for commoners to carry weapons? Also, are boomerangs in use in Wylfgard? If so, by what peoples?

My hair sensed that. My hair is an elaborate network of nerves constantly processing information.

QUOTE (Osolis)

Sure, they could. How have you powered them down? I mean, could you send me the info you've written about them again?

QUOTE (Myst)
5. Can I use the dwarven sets for the Blackrune City?
6. How would the dwarves react to Tom asking them for new armor and weapons?
7. Should I make Alx un my comic? If so, should I mention... you know what
10. Is there an underworld?

5. It wouldn't really look at all like the Blackrune City, but since the Blackrune City would be fairly complicated to make, if you want to keep things simple you can if you want to.
6. Well, if it was the Blackrune Clan (which I'm assuming it is), they would give him what he asked for, since they consider him their ally and he's helped them before in the past.
7. If you want to, go ahead. But no, don't mention any of it, because that never existed in Wylfgard, just like Alx doesn't exist in Wylfgard.
10. Yes. It's ruled over by the various gods of death and the Demon Lords.

QUOTE (Irondrone 4)
1. Are goblins a major force?; are they allied under one leader/board of leaders, or are they all split into many groups?

1. The goblins live much like the dwarves: split up into different tribes\clans scattered in different places, and, also like the dwarves, they tend to live underground.

Well, I guess Scorpy is already working on answering all the other questions, so I'll leave the rest to him... wink.gif

QUOTE (killerkarai)
Ok, I have some questions about the dwarfs
-military and political Ranks: I'm guessing that they're similar to the Empire
-preferred weapons: the usual axe and shield?
-Architecture: what do they're buildings look like?(something like this?
-armor: how heavy is their armor (50 lbs. for a full suit?)
-religion(s): what gods do they worship, etc.
-cavalry:non-existent?

I'll try to address these issues in the dwarf file when I add it to the Lore Archive, but I'll answer these in brief if I can:
- Not really. They have kings and captains, but their system of rule is actually more similar to the Northmen. They're from the North after all.
- Mainly, yes. At least for most regular soldiers.
- The use of special metals mined or created by dwarves (known to humans as Deepsilver, Deepgold, Void Iron, etc.) allows their armor suits to be lighter weight than those used by humans, but just as strong. I couldn't safely estimate the exact number though...
- Nearly all dwarves mainly worship Thor, who is said to have created them, along with several minor dwarf gods beneath him. As a result, they also respect all the Aesir.
- Pretty much, yes.

QUOTE (The Brute)
After looking up a bit about how Lycanthropy works in Wyflgard, I thought of this scenario. What if a human had been infected by a lycanthrope but then was sucked drain by a vampire? Even if vampire could detect possibly undesirable werewolf blood, hunger could push it to drink it if opportunity presented itself, right?

If you're asking if a vampire could drain a werewolf... well yeah, of course, provided he had the opportunity. But if you're hinting at werewolf/vampire hybrids, they're impossible. Maegan and I don't like to go there.

QUOTE (Lupus Lycan)
[1.] Are their Necromancer's? And if so, what is the public's opinion on them?
[2.] When will the map be done? xD
[3.] Are there any major forest's within the lands? And if there are, are there any township's bordering their edge?

1. Necromancers exist, but due to their use of Demonic death magics, pacts with demons, and the misuse of human souls, they are hated by most everyone, and must practice their dark arts in extreme secrecy. Priests hate them especially.
2. iDunno... we've got a few rough drafts ready, but it needs some work...
3. Of course there are forest - tons of 'em. As for a town right next to a forest, that's pretty common too. There's Eloh near Springwood in the Empire, for instance...

QUOTE (Kostchei)
Is there an equivelant of Carthage in Wylfgard?

Isn't that kind of old for Wylfgard? Most of Wylfgard is based on Greco-Roman and early Medieval material...

QUOTE (Archon)
Q: How is magic granted to people in Wylfgard?

Didn't I already answer this one once...? Anyway, besides people with a magical heritage (elves, dwarves, demonkin, demigods) who are obviously born with certain magic powers, the Gift is granted to normal humans entirely at random. Although there are rumors and superstitions regarding who will be born with magical aptitude, there really seems to be no indicator, and it does not seem to be hereditary. No one really knows.

QUOTE (HJC)
Q: Are there fauns/satyrs in wylfgard?

Sure, they are a type of beastfolk that live mainly in the Empire (same with centaurs).

QUOTE (The Brute)
Q: When will our questions be answered?

8. Is there a mountain range bordering the Empire?
9. Would Necromancers be evil and they attack them?
10. Is there an underworld?
11. For my comic can I make My own country? Please, Please?

1. Yes yes, I'm working on that. rolleyes.gif
2. You mean besides goblins, dark elves, and any number of denizens that dwell in the deep places of the world? tongue.gif
3. Check the Wylfgard sigfigs topic and look at my post there. wink.gif
4. ... Uh, I guess she wouldn't, if there was no one around. If she could find some wood elves they would probably help her, since she has associated with elves in the past. If not, then presumably she could make some form of primitive leather/hide armor from animal skins.
5. I'll leave that one for Wolf.
6. ^^^
7. ^^^
8. Of course, there are many! The Empire is HUGE. The biggest one is the Jagged Edge that separates the West from the East, pretty much splitting the whole known world in half since it's nearly impossible to cross.
9. See my answer to Lupus Lycan, above.
10. Again, of course. It's split pretty much along the same lines as the mortal realm "above" it, with the various death gods ruling over each part, and the Demon Lords under them, constantly fighting with each other in terrible demonic wars.
11. Can you make your own region within one of the existing main areas, such as a Tribe in the North or a Kingdom under the Empire? Yes. Can you make your own huge area along the lines of the Empire itself? No, that would totally break the story.

QUOTE (Irondrone)
1. Are goblins a major force?; are they allied under one leader/board of leaders, or are they all split into many groups?
2. Are there any sentient golems (is that how you spell it?) wandering about, or do they have to be under the control of a spellcaster?
3. Are explosives, in any form, in existance?

1. The latter. They're divided into many small tribes and clans of varying sizes and tend to stick underground, mostly bothering the dwarves and people who travel through the mountains.
2. Most golems are created with magic runes to carry out a very specific task (guard a treasure, kill someone, protect the creator, etc.), like a primitively-programmed robot. However, some necromancers create creatures similar to golems using soulstones, and these beings may break free of their control if the soul used to power them is strong enough.
3. A few exploding concoctions have been made by inventive alchemists, but they are mostly used as tricks and the like. Nothing exists that is powerful enough to be used in mining or warfare.

QUOTE (Mr. Monk)
Are Imperial names usually normal (like Tom Mitchell) or fantasic (like Doraius or Sir Scaevius)?

Those aren't really "fantasy" names, but ancient Latin (or at least Latin-sounding) names. I did make up Doraius by combining Dorian and Darius, but Scaevius is a Roman name meaning something like "left-handed" (hence his position). Many of the oldest noble Imperial families use these Roman/Latin sounding names, while newer and poorer families use names that seem more "normal" to us modern English-speakers.

QUOTE (Mr. Monk)
In the Empire, is it unusual for commoners to carry weapons?

Most commoners carry some kind of knife on them at nearly all times just for regular day-jobs, or for self-defense if necessary. But a commoner probably wouldn't own a well-forged longsword, much less just carry one around, no.

QUOTE (Mr. Monk)
Also, are boomerangs in use in Wylfgard? If so, by what peoples?

Some of the Islander tribes to the South might use them, I guess...

QUOTE (blackwolf)
How big can lycantrophotes (or however you wrigt it) grow.

That depends on the individual and the type of lycanthrope. The largest lycanthropes are the Werebears, which can be around ten feet in height when standing on their back legs, while Great Werewolves are also quite big - around 7 or 8 feet. Their height depends on the height of the individual - a taller man infected with lycanthropy will be a taller werewolf when he transforms.

QUOTE (Lupus Lycan)
Are there any Minotaurs?

Yes, they're a type of beastfolk living in the Empire.

Yes, but you wouldn't find anything like that in the North or the Empire. Each different animal is, of course, living in the reigon of Wylfgard that it fits into. Tigers live in the East, wolves mostly live in the North, jackals live in the South, etc.
