Posts I've Made

In Topic: Werewolf's Writing Tidbits

Well, a friend had me write a big Tumblr post about the things I made in 2017 that I'm proudest of.

One of those things very, very much includes my Guild Wars 2 drabbles. To quote that Tumblr post:

Last year, Taff and I started to RP together in Guild Wars 2, and I really wasn’t really expecting to find my inspiration to write again, there or anywhere else. But I did find it there. And, more importantly, I rediscovered the ability to actually enjoy writing something. These drabbles are pretty definitely some of the best things I’ve written for a long time, and now I’m finally starting to write again thanks to it all. As a bonus, I don’t think I’ve ever shipped two characters as hard as I ship Caid and Sadja, and that’s helped make these an absolute joy to write. I expect I’ll miss these two during our GW2 breaks and have to come back to them pretty frequently, since they’re something extra special to me now (plus, anything I write involving Sadja will be at least 1k words long, guaranteed).

The drabbles are entitled Tempered Hearts, and Taff's accompanying drabble series is Come Up For Air. They're interconnected, and they're now fully edited and uploaded on AO3, a fan-fiction site with a nice system. Be sure to read the notes for each chapter, so you can find Taff (my RP partner and creator/player of Sadja Shielding)'s drabbles that correspond with mine. Her writing is absolutely excellent, and these drabbles aren't even the finest example of her work.

So if you want to read what I've really, really enjoyed writing most lately... go there and take a look. Feel free to post comments about them here, as well, though, since AO3's account system is based around invites, so it's not super comment-friendly unless you're a writer on there, too.

Fair warning, though - the drabbles contain strong language and very mild sexuality.

Something super friendly to new comers.

I've considered joining for a long time, but have kind of hesitated because it really seemed like everyone was looking for experienced RP'ers.

Just my $0.02.

Hm, noted. I'd love to have you aboard, Nightstalker. :D I never wanted the campaigns to seem like we were only looking for "experience." I'll try to keep that in mind when I come up with another one.

Pretty much reiterating what I said the last time this came up:

I'd go for a story/character -driven campaign. And preferably one focusing more-or-less on a single faction, so as to hopefully ensure at least some amount of party cohesion.

P.S.: I like your new profile pic., Wolfy. :3

Also noted. I think that'd go well with something more welcoming to newcomers, too.

Why thank you. :D It's some Unikitty fanart. Chris Hawkfield, to be precise (and I didn't even have to commission it). Because Hawkodile is just a super cartoony Chris Redfield and that's why he is the best thing ever.

Oh hey Wolfy. I didn't recognize you at first because of your new profile picture. :D

Here's what I'd like to see from a campaign this year:

  1. Finishing up Delving too Deep, even if it is just summarizing everything.
  2. A Free-roam campaign. Maybe without just one story to focus on, we could focus on character development.
  3. I FINALLY RUN A SUCCESSFUL ERRANT CAMPAIGN

That's alright, slugger. But you should start getting used to it. Might be around for a while. ;)

1. Noted. I'll probably go with a summary, at this point, I'm afraid.

2. There's nothing restricting anyone from focusing on character development in a story-driven campaign, though. :/ Most of the character development I've seen has come from them, too.

3. Can't help you with that, I'm afraid. Would if I could.

Thanks for the responses, everybody. Anyone have any particular preferences as to what they'd like to see, especially if I were to start brainstorming for a faction-centric campaign?

YES! Now they can put the Fox intro back into their Star Wars Movies!

Really? That's all you're thinking about from this? :P

So Disney is officially an entertainment monopoly now. I thought there were laws against this sort of thing. It's getting pretty insane how much they're dominating the entire entertainment front, either directly via their own command or indirectly via how they're steering the market. It's actually kinda disgusting. Everything, everything, must be Disney-approved, one way or another.

Not to mention they basically get to make or break anyone's career now. Does the great Disney Empire find you unfit to work in the entertainment industry, which they own at least half of now? Ha. Begone, worm.

I hope I live long enough to see Disney taken down a peg.

Ocey, my internet sucks too hard to live stream at night much anymore. Especially while other people are using it.

I'm relying solely on you to at least mention, just subtly, if they announce DMC5 there tonight. Because I have to know. Think you can do that for me? Think you won't, y'know, overlook it or forget?

:P

HA! Oh, wow. Thrawnie, do you try to be the best, or does it just come naturally to you? :P

Don't mind if I do use her. :D Thanks! Skyrim is one of the instances where I actually do play as a female character, and my own attempts to make Magnhild were... mediocre, at best.

I'll be in my bunk
