I guess that's because it's still going to be 2-parter? Last I heard, anyway...Since when was the movie called "The Hobbit: The Unexpected Journey?" Because that's what it's called on IMDb now.

And I'm also in agreement that these dwarves are near beardless, which is so not cool it just isn't pleasant...
Or a flint-lock weapon of some kind...Dori's single-edged square sword is lame, but I guess it's nice to see a dwarf with something besides an axe or hammer.

Apparently, Smaug, Sauron the Necromancer, and Sherlock Holmes are the same personI wanna see Smaug.
But somehow I doubt he'll be revealed very soon.

The film company is not allowed to use material from the Simmarillion, they have to use the Hobbit and the LOTR only. I assumed the second part would be a bridge film, but apparently they don't like that idea so the script is actually going to split the Hobbit. According to wiki it will split at the defeat of Smaug, which I guess is logical but I would have thought that the Hobbit was too thin a book to split. However the LOTR contains a ton of information to supplement the hobbit. If I remember correctly theres a prologue chapter that explains what Gandalf was doing, what happened to Mirkwood etc? The film will probably draw from this.

Wait. Can I just say that the face prosthetics that didn't look too weird on Gimli look downright uncanny valley on these guys? I swear they're creeping me out a little. Maybe it's the funky lighting and backdrop, I dunno.
Those are actual pictures of the actors? They look like action figures or something... O.o

Um, they probably are fake? And WHAT THE CRAP IS UP WITH THE DWARF NOSES....THEY HONESTLY LOOK Fake.
Gimli's nose was fake. So was Gandalf's (at lest part of it).
Anyway, yeah, those dwarves are a bit more like it.

That was my first thought as well, actually... Something about them...Those are actual pictures of the actors? They look like action figures or something... O.o

This. These are weird, staged photoshoots with funny lighting and crazy silver sci-fi backdrops that have been Photoshopped to within an inch of their lives. They'll look much better out in New Zealand where they belong.I think partly why the dwarves look weird is because of the after effects that have been added to the photographs. They will look better on screen.

Yeah, I know. But the ones in that first photo look so much like action figures that I could practically see the joints.This. One day I'm going to visit Middle-Earth, I swear it. Maybe I can swing by that other island down there while I'm at it. What's it called? Austrasia?
