Defender Automated Battlesuit

 

Hectra infantry rarely had a problem fighting DSA forces with Ulkans generally being a minority on the battlefield and the best plan was to rely on support weapons and flanking tactics, The Zox were a completely different beast when their troops could teleport in and almost all their troops were found to be heavily armoured behemoths. While the troops could deal with them through massed sustained fire- three soldiers were more then enough to kill regular infantry troops by focusing their fire- casualties were high and often there was not enough time for sustained Torrent fire.

 

Rushing the old Defender Project that had been slowed in development due to lack of necessity, the DAB, or Defender Automated Battlesuit made its presence known on the Zox front in the first wave of human counter-attacks against the newcomers. There, it served to draw fire and spearhead infantry assaults against Zox forces that had teleported in, allowing Grenadiers to use their mobility, rather than being force to engage head on when they were forced to enter positions that offered little protections. While there were issues in terms of mobility, reliability, as well as speed in the early versions, a path was paved towards a unit capable of engaging the more heavily armoured infantry head on.

 

As the name implied, the Defender is an automated system, usually controlled by a limited AI capable of processing orders on its own and aware enough to adapt to battlefield conditions. Despite this, there are often handlers behind the line who can bypass the AI and give instructions/orders manually. To improve control even further, there are even virtual uplinks that allow a human to control the suit as if it were their own body when the proper equipment is available.

 

Well armed, the battlesuit generally mounts two 20mm autocannons to blast armoured infantry and light vehicles as its primary armament while its armour is strong enough to deflect heavy machine guns and very light cannon fire, while being flexible enough -with shock absorbent alloys sandwiched between each armour layer- to allow the automated system within to survive explosive impacts and sustained fire.

So modding tools for Company of Heroes 2 got expanded. Now custom decals can be added. Here's a WiP on some vehicles and the decal sheet.

Well, neat stuff all around, though after listening to your voice so much I have to agree with Dalton: you sound like Hiccup :P

 

Besides that, your voice-acting isn't half-bad. In your latest video, your voice for the 'King Cobra IFV' sounds an awful lot like the TF2 Engineer; which is never a bad thing :P

It's mostly when you introduce the relatively panicked tone (like around 1:16)... otherwise it doesn't sound terribly similar, now that I re-listened.

Anywho, on an unrelated note, you're modeling isn't bad either. Nice, (relatively) simple, and straightforward ^^

I have to echo the comment that you sound like Hiccup. Aside from that, you've got some great voice work. Nice amount of variation, and each line has a unique feel to it. 

 

Love the gun and barracks models, too, and the quality of the icons is fantastic.
