#488902 Werewolf's Writing Tidbits

Posted by Maverick-Werewolf on 21 August 2019 - 02:10 PM

Gee, I haven't posted here in a while.

I now post pretty much all my writing on my Patreon, some of it free, some of it paid. I offer 1k word ficlets at a reward tier, if you want to get writing of your own. I'm also willing to negotiate writing commissions.

Also on my Patreon is early access to upcoming Caiden short stories! Those will be going public sometime soon.

I'll consolidate some of my better pieces and post them here in the future, maybe. And I'll definitely be posting in this thread when the short story collection is available.

#488901 Werewolf's Art

Haven't posted here in a while, since the crossover on the SSLF Discord is strongk, but I figured I'd post here, too, for those who have left our fold (unfortunately).

I'm a crazy person and opened potential commissions:

(be sure to view the full image for details)

Contact me for pricing info! PMs here on SSLF are fine.

I also drew a sketch of my friend's dragon character, in dragonborn form:

#488799 What Are You Currently Playing?

Posted by Maverick-Werewolf on 13 July 2019 - 11:20 AM

Oh man, Ocey. If I had the time and energy right now (I don't, I feel very weird rn actually), I could go into so much detail about just how much the "Nathan Drake collection" broke every single one of the Uncharted games into tiny pieces and only very vaguely attempted to glue them back together. Everything. All of it. From the gameplay to the lightning (they completely screwed the color keys of every level), every aspect of the artistry, how the AI works, how the cover systems work, how the melee systems work, how the triggers work (entire sections of dialogue and music are just gone because the triggers to cue them were REMOVED and sometimes sections glitch out that never, ever had trouble before in all my 450+ gameplay hours of single player experience in UC2 alone), and gosh don't even get me started on the character models and how they completely effed Nate's model all to hell and back using the lowest quality crunch time unfinished thing from UC3 and porting it into every other game and thus removing not only how beautiful his models were but how he progressed artistically and characteristically through the series (looking older, and how his model was altered based on each game's art style, etc), and just...

Ugh. I want to write a giant, giant post on it someday. That collection makes me the saddest person on the planet.

#488741 Errant Discord Server

Posted by Maverick-Werewolf on 13 June 2019 - 02:58 PM

It isn't actually done or active yet, but I figured I'd start sending out invites to the upcoming Errant discord server, so people can start asking questions and familiarizing themselves with how it works.

Microsoft ties with Sony for Most Gameplay Shown

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh.

Someone call emergency services, Microsoft needs something for that burn.

It's time to say it.

I never asked for this.

So the protagonist of Dying Light 2 is being voiced by a totally new guy whose name I already forgot. It's not Roger Craig Smith again ( :( ), and it's not Matt Mercer. I was bouncing between the two in the trailer, couldn't decide which one it might be. I was leaning toward Roger, since his voice is pretty amazing.

But no, it's a new guy.

Guys.

I like him.

Cyberpunk brings:

- cool hot protagonist dude

- he's voiced by Josh Keaton, who emphatically isn't Nolan North, but is okay

- awesome looking setting

- BLADE ARMS OH GOD

- Keanu freaking Reeves

I was already sold but what is the word for sold ten times over?

Please inject it into my veins now.

#488612 Scorp's RPG Corner - Pathfinder: Kingmaker is here

Posted by Maverick-Werewolf on 07 June 2019 - 02:56 PM

Too bad it's only called "Baldur's Gate" because it happens to take place in Baldur's Gate (and because they want to try to grab people with nostalgia).

Might be fun, though. Who knows. I can't say I like 5e, but whatever. I just wish they'd not pretend it has anything to do with the BG saga, because that's just annoying.

#488597 The Video Game News Thread

Posted by Maverick-Werewolf on 02 June 2019 - 10:19 AM

I am here for the E3.

I will probably not be able to watch the stream (again), but the only part of E3 I legitimately enjoy anymore is Ocey's commentary, anyway. :P

#488538 Fresh start

Posted by Maverick-Werewolf on 09 May 2019 - 03:48 PM

I'll set up a discord server, then. I'll post here again with an invite link when it's done. It might not be done for a while, as I'm going to revamp it some, simplify, and move all the info here onto the discord.

There WILL be changes to the way Errant is run now that it's getting a fresh start. You'll see other big announcements about it later.

#488533 Fresh start

Posted by Maverick-Werewolf on 06 May 2019 - 08:57 PM

No. Not even once. Because I hate mics and voice inputs, so please don't assume. :P

It'd remain entirely text based. I find voice to only get in the way when it comes to RP, and I have only ever run my campaigns based in text (or in person, which obviously we cannot do). I vastly prefer text, so it'd remain text.

Dice rolls would be taken care of by a bot. There's be multiple channels to organize things, etc. I've done it in practice a few times now, I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in Errant of it.

#488522 Fresh start

Posted by Maverick-Werewolf on 05 May 2019 - 09:00 AM

And now, five months later with a busy schedule and eternally hanging out on Discord, I have to ask...

Would anyone be interested in an Errant Discord server? A very organized, streamlined version of Errant but with RP sessions held like playing tabletop D&D online.

I know some of you have Discord, at least; I just think it'd make it easier and faster for me to respond to Errant and maybe breathe life into it again. (And remember it exists more often.) I've also become accustomed to real-time RPing more again now, much more so than forum RPing (which I have never liked as much as the alternative).

Thoughts? Genuine opinions? If anyone seriously doesn't like this idea, don't hesitate to say so. I want to know.

#488511 moving Wicktures that you are watching: John Wick 3 Edition

Posted by Maverick-Werewolf on 28 April 2019 - 08:00 AM

What a silly show. Lots of incredibly good-looking actresses in it though, so it wasn't all a waste. :P

There weren't any incredibly good-looking actors in it, though, lemme tell you.

#488199 Fresh start

Thats what I need :) Because I have one problem with Wulfgard. It seems to me very restrictive in its variability. My ideas for characters simply either are falling outside the Wulfgard's boundaries, as I have found out, or I cannot simply choose. Also its that I am not knowledgeable enough about the setting. And its ironic, but "generic characters" I cannot think of as they are "too generic" :D But I will be fine if I will be playing with a character that someone else created. Its in technicality the same as playing a video game most of the time. I may just alter the name, maybe slightily an appearance, but not much else. Maybe just... only limitation I may place, I dont want it to be from the North. They are... really not my liking at all.

I've often found that "generic" is a term used by those who don't get to know the deeper nuances of characters who, in their outward physical appearance, feel too "familiar." It's pretty easily conquered by anyone willing to go past skin deep. ;)

If you think you are falling outside the boundaries, you could always just ask me. I generally try to put restrictions on certain campaigns in order to bolster party cohesiveness, but one of the purposes of Errant when it was originally created was to allow for full creative freedom. You can be a human, elf, dwarf, beastman, any of the Chaos races, etc. - you could even play as a hyper-intelligent animal by being someone's familiar spirit. There are far more possibilities than I think you're giving the setting credit for.

As for a new campaign in itself, I guess I'll get a poll going soon based on some of the suggestions I've seen here, so that I can get a feel what everyone would like to do next. A poll would more clearly define what we'll be doing next. :P

Thanks for the interest again, guys. :D I've been running on low steam lately, but I really want to get something going again because I hate to abandon such great players.
