I have been a fan of Scorp's stuff since, (what was it, 2007? I believe it was 2007...) I first found his website after I was browsing Brickshelf at random and discovered one or two of Scorp's Halo and Nova Refuge creations. I immediately went to his website (the link address was in one of the pics) and began reading about Scorp. One of the things that I liked the most was his LEGO customizing philosophy. I agreed with it so much, and I thought I was the only person in the world who liked to customize LEGOs by cutting and decals. (I had no experience on the internet at the time, and was completely unaware of the LEGO customizing community) I fell in love with "SYWBAA?" and the idea of Nova Refuge and Wulfgard. (I still think the old spelling is cooler)
I didn't create an account here until much later. I had wanted to ask Scorp a question about his religious views, and then requested for the account to be deleted because I wanted to make a new account in the future. I didn't make that account until I discovered that my favorite Brickshelf hosting comic maker, Jlblue, posted his work here on SSLF for others to comment on. Now, I hadn't payed much attention to the forums before, I just loved Scorp's decals, his custom LEGO creations and some of his game reviews.
I had never been a member of any forum but the official Star Wars site's forum before, and my account there was banned. (I was young, inexperience, and the mods were just doing their job; they can't be blamed) I made my account here called "Temporary" because I had been commenting on Jlblue's comic Est. '62 on it's own website at the time, and I made him angry, so I didn't want him to know that the Jociva Flcol who made him mad was the same person who was reading his comic with each update. It wasn't until much later that I asked Maverick to change my name, and Jlblue found out who I was. (We made up, and are friends now
)
When Jlblue wasn't updating Est. '62 I was browsing other parts of the forums, mostly lurking, but later on posting. (I had a bad experience on the SW forums, and didn't want to be called a noob here as well...) No one really payed much attention to me, and I kind of felt left out because everyone seemed to be friends with each other, and there were in-jokes I didn't get, etc.
My uncle told me that I was good at making LEGO comics, (I had made a few before, but none of them were very good) he just thought it was cool that someone could make a comic with LEGOs, so he gave me the idea for AvS and I posted it on here. People loved it, and wanted more. I started to make more comics, and made more friends. When I wasn't making comics, I liked to check the Wulfgard site for updates. Loving the new site, by the way.
Brickforge had a cool deal to get trans-clear spartan armor, and I wanted to place an order there, but never had any incentive to before then. I placed my order, then went to Brickarms to order some weapons to go with the armor. Since I was committed now, I wanted my Halo guys to look the best they could, so I bought $10 worth of Halo decals from Scorp to become a Nova member.
I still want to get your books, Scorp, but I do want to read Maverick's Wulfgard book too...
I don't like paying shipping and handling, so I try to order as much stuff at one time as possible.
I like Nova Refuge, I like Wulfgard, I like your site, Scorp, it's got a great community, and your LEGO creations are the coolest I've ever seen before.
Wow, that was long... that might be my longest post here...
