Can't wait until the script for the final season is leaked in six months so I know exactly how we'll be put out of our misery.

In all honesty, I didn't think the finale was too bad. I'm still consistently underwhelmed by most of the interactions of these characters who haven't seen each other in years, but I don't know what exactly I'm expecting.

Spoiler

This was a filler season somehow, despite how much happened. The show gives no significance to 90% of events that happen, so they feel pointless and superficial. Oh well.

This show's gotten real bad huh.

Spoiler

Does anyone know why the last two seasons are so much shorter? Is it just because D&D don't want to be bothered with it anymore? Because obviously the show is a big deal for HBO, why not milk it for another three full seasons and do the story justice? It's excessive, sure, and at this point I also just want this whole thing to be over so I can move on with my life, but man, they put all this work into it for 6 years just to end it with a truncated fan-fiction spectacle fest, which to be fair I guess is where we've been headed all along.

oh well. I'll just uh. Go and read the early chapters of TWoW again I guess.

Yeah Long War is basically a nightmare. I've played it longer than my three vanilla playthroughs combined, and I've still only reached the first base defense. All of the exact changes escape me, but it's basically a much longer, more difficult version of the game in exchange for incredible options for customization and strategy. You end up with a much more complex game that's even more enjoyable to sink your teeth into. The drawback is giant chrysalids. One time on a terror mission I fought one as tall as a three story building.

But they didn't, and it wasn't.

Imagine that.

Am I the only one who can't shake the feeling that Henry Cavill's face is exactly the same in both pictures? Guy's like a perpetually puzzled wooden board.

Dragon battles in BG2 are crazy, as are the fights with demigods. Time stop and death spells and summons oh my.

XCOM is also pretty epic. When you pull out that narrow victory on the last turn of the mission.

Massive combos in the Arkham games are great if you can clear a room without getting a scratch on you.

This is another one of those episodes where every scene is just incredible. They really went all out with the special effects, with the extended shots of the dragons and that CRAZY skeleton fight (WAY more awesome than I picture it in the books). There was a ton of action but also lots of plot development and wrap up. Mannis' landfall? Awesome. Brienne vs the Hound, delightful. I like that they gave Ygritte a more proper send off. I was disappointed by the lack of Stoneheart and a few lines missing from Tyrion and Tywin's encounter, but all in all this was an amazing finale.

Wow did they seriously just take a jab at Nintendo fans for wanting a new Star Fox instead of another stupid effing Mario game?

Spoiler
I think there was intentional misdirection going on there on the part of the advertisers. I also couldn't help but roll my eyes as time and time again we were treated to scenes of women, children, and dogs outrunning explosions, tsunamis, and flaming trains. On the bright side, at least the monsters actually destroyed stuff and killed people. If nothing else, the movie accurately portrays stakes and scale. And the visuals are great. There's a tendency for the film to cut away just about any time something awesome is about to happen (there are multiple scenes where the monsters are about to fight and then we cut to something else, and when we return the fight is already over), but by the end the prolonged monster fights make up for it.

I really liked the old Daario. I am unwilling to believe that the Mother of Eyebrows would fall in love with that big-eared, squinty-faced beardy man. Daario's creepy glances and almost elven facial features really worked for me, and made him feel like the exotic heartthrob that he's supposed to be. Oh well.

If you see/saw Iron Man 3, Thor 2, or the new Captain America movie, and you don't see this, you're doing movies wrong. While I know nothing about the source material and I can't say if the movie itself will be good at all, this is still the most interesting project Marvel Studios has done since, like...ever?

If you want a tank/frontliner I would go with Minsc, Kagain, or maybe even that orc guy from the enhanced edition who has ridiculous strength. Kivan or Coran would also be useful for ranged attacks, but Coran is kind of hard to get early if you don't know what you're doing, and Minsc can serve almost the same purpose.
