#486152 Mecha Drabbles

Nice 'mechs/exosuits! I really need to make use of those little ball & socket joints some time...

I like the Sarran-inspired one best of course, but even that's not absurdly impractical enough to be a Sarran mech. :P Add some wings and/or blades on various parts of the body and then maybe it'll be anime enough to be a Sarran mech.

Huh. I can roll with that. Challenge accepted?

Youtube user chubbybots recently posted a stellar tutorial for a small mech frame.

In honour of that, I bashed together a quick mech out of table scraps using his frame and thought I would post something that I've been tinkering with for literal years. It's one of those pet projects that seems to never be done, but might actually be complete.this time.

Table scraps mech:

My endless WIP was heavily inspired by the Sarran faction from Nova Refuge. Which is to say it's absurdy anime and impractically designed:

I would seriously appreciate any constructive criticism or feedback. Hope you enjoyed!

#424072 Zygbar Inspired Light Mech

So I have had this floating around as a WIP for almost a year now, and no amount of tinkering was able to get me a satisfactory amount of poseability and small form factor in the ankles until I saw the new ball joints in the small Chima sets. From there it took me under an hour to finish it off, once and for all. Honestly feels a bit like cheating :)

It was a bit of a challenge building a functional cockpit with controls on such a small size. I was mostly inspired by the idea of using minifig skis for a windshield: https://www.flickr.c...06/13904384405/

In addition to the ankles, those small ball joints allowed me to add greater poseability to the arm. Originally it just pivoted up and down, which was frustrating: https://www.flickr.c...06/13904429223/

Empty cockpit to show off the control panel: https://www.flickr.c...06/13904412103/

I have this mental image of Zygbar using an old hard-suit prototype, bulking it out and adding boosters for some kind of orbital drop infantry support. Either way, the more glowing bits, the better: https://www.flickr.c...06/13904298653/

Thanks for having a look! Comments and criticism would be much appreciated.

#400542 Contest Entry: Harmony Cherub Hoverbike and Valkyrie Aerowalker

Here in glorious not-quite technicolour! My entries for the Harmony Vehicle Design Contest;
the Cherub and the Valkyrie.

The Cherub hoverbike:
Here with our decidedly non-Sarran pilot at the controls:

The Valkyrie aerowalker:
Head articulation:
In flight:
Ground combat...ish:

For technical details and flavour, feel free to read the image descriptions. I figure transcribing them here is a waste of both bytes, and our time.
Enjoy and as always, comments and critiques are greatly appreciated.

Is it just me or does the diatengu share a strong resemblance with the grimm vulture. Regardless, its a stellar entry. Excelent work!
