Good god...

Anyone who knows me at all knows that I'm the farthest cry from a Tolkien elitist. I actually enjoy the movies a deal better than the books, as I'm sure I've mentioned. The only one in the civilized world who does, but it's cool. So if they were taking a movie route with this, I'd be fine with it. Actually, I like the aesthetics of the orcs and armor and weapons a decent amount. The problem is that this is literally 'Sad Depressed Ranger with a Dead Family'.

Why is it so hard to make an open-world LOTR game during the War of the Ring? I mean, the gameplay actually looks kinda fun (ignoring the copyright infringement that's clearly occurring with the animations). Just take that hack-and-slash sort of combat, the Nemesis system, give the player a decent customization menu, and drop them into their race's region.

Oh, well. When the price drops to 30 I'll buy it, close my eyes and pretend it's not LOTR. Maybe the story will actually be a work of art, where Talion's relationship with the wraith is really well-done and his family's death is...really sad...

I can't do this, not even I'm that positive. :P

I'm not neccessarily the person to ask when it comes to art, but this is good stuff. Faces are actually pretty good, much better than mine were while I was still into art. Proportions look pretty good. Keep it up, practice is what'll really improve the skill at this point. ;)

Kevin J. Anderson is a necromancer.

That's the series I grew up on, man! I used to read YJK like it was my job! Brings back memories, mentioning it.

You can't say that about Him. He's always listening...

I'm really excited for this. And the prequels were not entirely bad *holds arms, accepting his fate*. Granted the only redeeming quality of Episode 1 is Liam Neeson, the only redeeming quality of 2 is the giant jedi battle, and 3 tied everything off pretty well. But still.

In terms of the new trilogy? I'm not sure about their ideas for a completely original story. I hope that means it still includes Jacen and Jaina and Lowbacca, et cetera. I really hope that it doesn't mean that it's about Cade Skywalker, and still involves a living Han, Luke and Leia. In terms of things I wanna see?

I'll bullet them:

-Shadow Academy, and the attack on the Praxeum

-Destruction of Sernpidal and the eternal sadness that follows it for those of you who know what I refer to

-If it's Yuuzhan Vong War, Corran Horn versus Shedo Shai on Ithor

-Battle of Coruscant (where the good guys lose)

-Mission to Myrkr

-Whipids (maybe K'kruhk)

Only a few. They really could do so much with this. I just hope it isn't 100% original and completely gets rid of/ignores the aforementioned characters.

Well, time to go get my Jedi costume together. I only have two years til Celebration Anaheim.
